Woman shot, injured in Lancaster Tuesday

LANCASTER – A woman found shot in Lancaster Tuesday afternoon is expected to survive, authorities said.

The incident was reported shortly after 3 p.m. on Dec. 30. Deputies received a call about a gunshot victim and responded to the parking lot of the Super Store, located on Beech Avenue near Avenue H-8 in Lancaster.

“When deputies responded they found a lone female adult suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound… She was transported to a local hospital where she is being treated for her wounds,” said Captain Pat Nelson of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

“Witnesses described a male wearing a hoodie and a mask that ran from the location following the shooting,” Nelson added.

As officers taped off the crime scene Tuesday afternoon, a compact red car could be seen parked directly in front of the Super Store. The driver’s side window of the vehicle was shattered and a set of keys was on the ground near the driver’s side door.

The female victim, whose name was not released, was shot once in the abdomen and was undergoing surgery, Lt. Martinez said Tuesday evening.

A suspect was arrested Tuesday evening in connection with the shooting, but his name was withheld to protect the ongoing investigation. Detectives believe more than one person was involved, and they’re still looking for the other suspects, Sheriff’s officials said.

  2. I know both young ladies and it’s a shame that happened my prayers go out to the victim and her family and I pray for a speedy and complete recovery. And to the people that did this vengeance is mine saith the Lord I pray that God shows you mercy because you didn’t show any to the victim you are a coward.

  3. I thought that this was about some poor woman that got shot not a battle js I am praying for her and her family Jesus touch them and allow her a complete healing in Jesus name amen

    • Would it had made a difference if it were a poor woman that was shot? A life is a life no matter the SES!

  5. Lord I pray that you completely heal this woman and condemn those involved in thier hearts to give themselves up. And thank you to the officers and others involved that helped this woman. The av is not the problem, it is the lack of responsibility taken by those who live here and choose to do wrong. Love and care for each other

    • There are many reasons for this. Your ignorance on the matter is obvious. RICO and other such charges exist for a reasons. You do not have to pull the trigger to be responsible.

        • I don’t know. I’ve always thought the problem had more to do with angry people who make uninformed, blanket assumptions. You know, the kind of people who would rather find scapegoats for their problems rather than actual solutions?
