PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale has installed two electric vehicle charging stations, which are available for the public’s use at two city facilities.
The charging stations are located at Palmdale City Hall, on the south side of the Development Services building, located at 38250 Sierra Highway, and at Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center, located at 3850 Avenue S. They are available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“As part of our commitment to support green energy efforts and to make these resources more readily available for our residents, we have installed these state-of-the-art charging stations at easily accessible locations,” said Palmdale’s Public Works Director Mike Mischel.
Both locations are fully ADA compliant and were paid for through a grant from Antelope Valley Air Quality Management and transportation-related funding.
“When we had our solar shade structures installed, we ensured that the infrastructure was also put into place to provide electric vehicle charging stations,” said Palmdale’s Senior Administrative Analyst Benjamin Lucha. “We are excited to provide this service and hope the units will give EV users a greater range to utilize their vehicles.”
For more information about the city’s electric vehicle charging stations, contact Benjamin Lucha at 661-267-5300 or email blucha@cityofpalmdale.org.

Doesn’t seem like a great place to put a charging station @Oasis Park? Scary- Alone- No place to shop???Not Smart
Why not next to a shopping center? Safer

We have harassed the mayor about this. Thank You city of Palmdale but it is all free in Lancaster and there are 3 that we know of that we have used in Lancaster . So when we go the movies on The Blvd. We plug right in around the corner for free. And while we are at the movies we go across the street and have dinner and drink beer. We could be spending our money where we live PALMDALE.

If you go back and hope into your electric vehicle after a night of eating and drinking, you can stay in Lancaster. SMH And chances are Lancaster won’t even thank you after you’re busted in one of their many checkpoints after you find your slick electric a$$ paying out thousands for a DUI! Of course, that’ll be the least of it if you hurt someone. So ya, Palmdale will do just fine without your $$$!

Nicely done,***..
I wonder when some drunk is gonna get zapped when he relieves himself on a charging electric vehicle on the fabulous blvd. There should be warning labels such as WARNING: DO NOT PEE ON THE PLUG. THAT’S WHAT THE BUSHES ARE FOR.
Michelle Egberts says
@William… I wouldn’t advise anyone to pee on the bushes as both “Urinating in Public” and “Indecent Exposure” are both Sex Offender crimes and will get you put on the Sex Offender Registry if caught, charged and convicted.
I would definitely recommend the City of Palmdale to put port-a-potties nearby.
William says
@Michelle
We’re talking the blvd here.
Weren’t they going to put port a pottys on the blvd to keep the urination to a miniimum?
Michelle Egberts says
@William… The City of Lancaster says they are going to do a lot of things, but unless the complaint is in the form of a lawsuit they don’t pay attention nor follow through.
In my opinion, the council/commissions are not for the people as I have personally experienced but using their positions for self-gain or favors for their colleagues, similarly compared to a gestapo.
Just Saying says
Checkpoints are controlled by the State of California, the cities or counties have no choice but to comply, or risk having state highway funds withheld. It would also be stupid to point out that tomorrow will be one of Palmdales many checkpoints.
Don’t drink and drive in ANY city.
Kurt says
Ain’t no such thing as free. My tax dollars are paying for your “free” charge. Hopefully someday your tax dollars can pay to fill my gas tank.
Just Saying says
Our tax dollars paid for the equipment. The power is from solar panels that will now supply the city and schools for free. The net cost to charge any number of electric cars from here on out is now $0. In 10 years you’ll need a loan to fill that gas tank of yours.

Hi Bob:
It is available at cost, which is $1 per hour.

you forgot to mention if it cost money or not…. Fail!
