PALMDALE – A 36-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly stabbing his roommate to death with a sword, authorities said.
Ricardo Medina was arrested around 1 a.m. on suspicion of murdering 36-year-old Joshua Sutter and booked at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station jail, according to Deputy Lillian Peck of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The sword attack occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, inside a home in the 38000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road near Palmdale.
“That afternoon, the victim and the suspect became involved in an argument, which turned into a physical altercation,” Peck stated. “Suspect Medina retreated to his bedroom with his girlfriend, but victim Sutter followed them and forced the door open.”
“Suspect Medina stabbed victim Sutter once in the abdomen with a sword kept next to the bedroom door,” Peck added.
Sutter was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Medina called 9-1-1, remained at the location and was later interviewed by homicide detectives, according to Peck. He was subsequently arrested for Sutter’s murder.
Celebrity gossip website TMZ is reporting that Medina played the Red Ranger in “Power Rangers Wild Force,” a 2002 television series. Medina also played Deker in Power Rangers Samurai in 2011, according to TMZ.com.
Medina remains jailed in lieu of $1 million bail.

haha guys got stuck in a loop. Who cares wether it happened is a section of scv or av. Trust me, no one else is placing an ounce of emphasis on that. What is of note is that a guy is dead. No doubt more to the story will emerge, but suffice it to say for now is that a guy who engages in swordplay on film is apparently implicated in the sword stabbing death of a man.
Ummm.... says
There appears to be more to this story than what is printed here.
The ‘suspect’ retreated to the bedroom with his girlfriend until the ‘victim’ forced open the door? After the ‘suspect’ stabbed the ‘victim,’ he called 911 himself and stayed at the scene?
I think that I will withhold judgment on this one until more facts come out.

Welcome to medieval Antelope Valley, where the crime rate is down. LOL,LOL!
NOPE says
Palmdale was just the arresting station, this did not happen in the AV
Jason says
Uh that area is very much considered part of the AV
Jane says
Not as much as it’s considered Santa Clarita! It’s more SCV than AV, sorry.
Avisablackhole says
Just keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better; green valley has always been part of the av; that’s why the kids go to quartz hill and other palmdale schools. SCV has its own problems but it is not even comparable, sad that the bad half of the av reflects so heavily on the many good people up there; but just keep blaming those liberals!
jb says
I live there. It’s the AV. Santa Clarita is 30+ minutes away.
daniel says
Not easy to tell from the map I got to but, it looks like it’s just outside the AV; just outside Leona Valley which is the outer part of THE AV. It is quite secluded and nestled in the middle of Valencia and The AV. Right where you would expect a Power Ranger would be hiding, LOL. Sad state of affairs. My condolences to the deceased man’s family and friends. MAP: http://maps.latimes.com/neighborhoods/region/antelope-valley/

why they got to associate palmdale with this it happened in Green Valley the sheriff station is the only thing the city has to do with this story smh
Gg says
It says “near Palmdale”. The arresting station was in Palmdale.
Juziahh says
why they got to associate palmdale with this it happened in green valley the word palmdale should only be in here when it comes to the sheriff station smh
Cole says
Damn so [removed], grew up watching dude as the red power ranger on the mighty morphing days. My condolences to the victims family and friends.
Ben Fold says
I’m so tired of all these sword and arrow deaths in the AV. I moved here from medieval Europe, but now the same problems are happening here!
Fool says
This didn’t happen in the AV maybe pay attention to the location. Palmdale was just the arresting station. This means the Los Angeles Sheriffs department dispatched the closest station or deputy
Denise says
Dope, Green Valley is part of the AV along with Leona Valley and Lake Hughes.
Matt K. says
Actually, Green Valley is more a part of Santa Clarita Valley than the A.V.
Green Valley shares a zip code with Saugus and North Valencia.
