“Just like there would be more arrests if they set up checkpoints outside the mall where people get smashed with no regulation every day.”
Is Jason there all day witnessing this?
Are there headlines/articles in the Valley Press stating this?
This is the first I’ve heard about this horrible situation at the Mall. How was this missed by our local news media?
Are there stand alone drinking establisments at the Mall? It looks like any alcohol is served in family style restaurants.
But, then again, Jason’s keyboard has a mind of its own.
moll flanders says
What’s the matter William, are you still holding a grudge against Jason because he has different opinions than you? Don’t be so obtuse Bill.
Jason says
Way to ignore what I was responding to. Didn’t realize the Fair, Bex and the streets of Lancaster were stand alone drinking establishments. Same type of drinking goes on at those family type restaurants at the mall that goes on at Bex, the Fair etc, especially when two of those restaurants at the are built around alcohol. But let’s get ignore that and pretend only responsible drinking happens at the mall.
William says
You forget the wine and beer bars with food as a secondary option on the blvd.
Where are all the articles on alcohol related problems at the Mall? Are they being suppressed by the AV Times, Jason?
Gee. I wonder why they call it RESTAURANT ROW at the Mall. Maybe the blvd should be called SKID ROW so they aren’t confused.
But, of course, you live in Lancaster so the Mall is bad because, well. because. Rex thinks it’s bad too and that it’s going to go under because malls are going out of style somewhere at some time, somehow. And, Bangladesh. If only Bangladesh put solar panels on their roofs and Walmarts next to their schools and had ‘eyes in the sky’ and……
Well, you know the rest.
We are so fortunate that nobody drinks at home in the Antelope Valley and then drives their cars.
And Spekaer Boehner isn’t a drunk.
Bottom line, Jason. How long has the Antelope Valley Mall been a trouble spot for alcohol related problems “… the mall where people get smashed with no regulation every day.”? Your words. Back ’em up.
This comment should keep you busy for a couple days.
Jason says
Didnt forget about them, they were never mentioned. And by my count the Mall has one less beer bar with food as a secondary option than the Blvd. Funny how somehow those three places on the Blvd pump out more drinking than the 10 restaurants at the mall in your mind.
I don’t think the mall is bad because Rex thinks so, I just don’t care for all the people around the mall, too many idiots in a hurry.
How long has the Blvd, Bex, the Fair etc in Lancaster been a trouble spot where people get smashed every day with no regulation? Or are you going to continue to ignore what I was responding to? Are you going to call out that person to back up their facts or is it OK because they were trashing Lancaster and Rex?
Bottom line is both places have problems with people getting smashed every day and then getting behind the wheel and its not unique to one town or the other.

all these check points are nice. seems a bigger problem is people being shot and killed on the streets. i am a night owl and often hear very loud pops or boom type sounds in the middle of the night…and seemingly no police response whatsoever. no sirens, nothing. or guys hauling ass screaching around in their muscle cars or suped up imports. again you dont hear any police response. but i’ll drive around during the days and see several uniformed and windbreaker/jeans cops assembled getting ready to go nab someone. or av press will put the word out to turn someone in. seems to me like the cops go for the safer, low hanging fruit instead of catching shooters and others during the commission of a real crime.
West side resident says
From what know, they need this on the westside, ranch vista and Ava verde. So many WOMAN drive drunk. I have drove intoxicated in those areas and have NO FEAR of seeing a cop. You’ll be surprised how many off duty cops I see intoxicated and still driving. My cop buddy could tell you the storied of his beloved co-workers
FTAV says
DUI stats are an exaggerated scam. True DUI accidents are caused by very intoxicated drivers, not grown men with a .08 BAC. This is why BAC stats are never in ANY on these articles. If the true DUI stats were discussed, we would see heavy intoxication is the link in REAL DUI accidents. Low BAC garbage is about, money, probation, fees, fines, fake “education” classes, control, money, and more money-period.
Concur says
FTAV has a point. That is why checkpoints to catch drunk drivers should be established near BeX, at the Fairgrounds during the Fair, after Streets of Lancaster, and after Fields of Drafts. Too bad our mayor talks a tough talk about coming down hard on booze but throws the biggest booze bashes in the valley.
Greg says
DUI collisions. They are not accidents when a person chooses to get behind the wheel while drunk.
Annoymous says
I am truly grateful for checkpoints. I wish the Police could conduct more of these checkpoints. I’m so sick of these wreckless drivers. Please, please do one on ave R and 20th street east. There are too many people running red lights, speeding and swerving on the roads because they’re either drunk or on their cell phones. They need to be stopped.
Concur says
i concur with Anonymous. Some good places to catch drunk driver is near BeX, at the Fairgrounds during the Fair, after Streets of Lancaster, and after Fields of Drafts. Too much promotion of limitless drinking. Where is Pueblo y Salud? We need them to stop the out of control promotion of drinking. The mayor should know better. He claims to be a recovering alcoholic but he allows rampant drinking at events.
Really? says
One person arrested at a DUI checkpoint in Palmdale and the best you can do is attack the mayor of Lancaster?
Pathetic :\
Concur says
There would be tons more DUI arrests if they set up checkpoints at the mayors alcohol events and outlets. He talks out one side of his mouth about no liquor stores and holds events where people get smashed with little or no regulation. I take it you haven’t been to the Fair? Or BeX on his BLVD? Or Streets of Lancaster?
Jason says
Just like there would be more arrests if they set up checkpoints outside the mall where people get smashed with no regulation every day. Blaming Parris for people drinking and driving is hilarious, didn’t realize he was at all these places forcing alcohol down peoples throats and then forcing them to drive.
Concur says
Who is blaming Parris for drunk driving? I am pointing out his hypocrisy regarding alcohol. He talks tough but allow events with limitless drinking. How about limiting the number of drinks you can have at the Fair? Ever see all the drunks there? If he really cared he would set up a more responsible policy at his events.
Jason says
So you saying he allows rampant drinking at events and that more DUIs would be caught outside of HIS events isn’t blaming him?
jason h says
You might be more grateful if you lived in the Eastern Germany back in the days of communism so you would get even more checkpoints.
Bob says
Sounds good liberal!
FTAVs says
Sounds good, neo-nazi. Why don’t you quit being such a spineless pansy and grow a set. Or, is the crushing weight of an all powerful big daddy government police state comforting to you?
William says
I’ve learned to drive like an ambulance driver through busy intersections in the Valley. Even with a green light and sirens blaring they slow down to cross the intersection.
I usually take my foot off the gas and am ready to brake going through a green light. The only T-bones I like are steaks.
A careless, drunk or distracted driver isn’t concerned with my right-of-way’.
