PALMDALE – A first of its kind wellness village real estate development called The Oasis is coming to Palmdale, Thomas Partners Properties (TPP) announced Wednesday.
With groundbreaking expected in June of 2016, The Oasis Wellness Village will offer a continuum of care at 864 W. Palmdale Boulevard – adjacent to Palmdale Regional Medical Center.
The Oasis is a 420,000-square-foot development across more than 17.5 acres. The more than $200 million project will create thousands of new good paying jobs for the area and provide a variety of public amenities and public infrastructure improvements, including a public pavilion, parking and circulation amenities, park, pedestrian areas, signage, decor and landscaping.
“The Oasis Wellness Village is a true health care success story,” stated Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford. “We have a health care crisis in the Antelope Valley, and The Oasis is turning that crisis into an opportunity to promote better health and better health care for everyone.”
Thomas Partners Properties President John Thomas stated, “This is the future of health care in America. The Oasis Wellness Village brings together the world’s finest physicians with everything from imaging and physical therapy to yoga and farmers markets … a true integration of health and wellness.”
“We have been pleased to have had extensive conversations with our neighbor, Palmdale Regional Hospital, and are hopeful they will be an active participant in The Oasis. Based on our meetings it is clear our vision at TPP is consistent with the hospital’s long term master plan. We look forward to working together with Palmdale Regional Hospital and the City to help make The Oasis become a reality,” Thomas continued.
Michael Kim, healthcare principal at HKS architects and lead designer of The Oasis said, “The Oasis is a first of its kind wellness village and should serve as a model for health care distribution nationally.”
The Oasis will be introducing new technologies, from streamlining check in with RFID “Smart Check In” to providing a spa-like environment for visitors to relax, be well and enjoy their experience.

If I’m not mistaken, this will be on the corner of 10th W and Palm Blvd. So the current businesses there i.e. Karen’s kitchen, the Liquor store, and that semi-new Mexican restaurant will be demolished.. =?
Tim Scott says
Based on the address in the article you are correct. I’d guess those businesses will find other space…though probably not as reasonable as the rent there. That building is absolutely ancient by Antelope Valley standards, so it has to be pretty cheap even though that is a premium location.
Regwom says
Ladies and gentlemen,
What’s the matter here.
Look if build they Will come! Can’t afford to live in the city. Guess who’s coming to the neighborhood.
I purchased 20 acre 15 yrs ago, 5000$ including Closing costs, off a Hwy. I hope you live near the site, so that your property value goes up and you can sell at a huge profit and move further out.
Scott Wallace says
Sounds a lot like a hippy liberal, statist, nationalized healthcare experiment to me. it will help few more than the investors who will laugh all the way to the bank at the nincompoops that supported it as if the developers actually care about anything but the bottom line. I’m sure they are hoping to fund the monster with tax money taken from different sources that should have never been allowed in the first place. It’s just like all the other ‘schools’ and health care businesses that are popping up because they know they can rake in profits stealing federal tax money under the guise of helping society. We are doomed by our own stupidity.
Tim Scott says
Soooooo….is your complaint that this is a liberal statist healthcare experiment, or that it is a con job big business moneymaker? It seems like you are so anxious to be against it that you haven’t really made up your mind. Are you just throwing complaints to see what sticks?
Timmer says
unlike Rex’s projects in Ledford which are subsidized with government cheese (eye in the sky, solar, ecolution, blvd) this is a project from the private sector. So much for those Lancaster “fiscal conservatives”.
Timmer says
^^^in Lancaster not in Ledford.
Tracey says
After further researching, I’m excited. A new park, farmers market, movies in the park, and wellness ideas and activities. A way to bring our community together and a place to be healthy and social. Thank you Mr. Ledford.
Thom says
Why are they coming to Palmdale? Are they getting kicked out of Westlake Village?
PissedoffEMT says
Maybe now residents of the AV will stop abusing the 911 system, Emergency rooms and take better car of themselves… Ha, who am I kidding?
Tim Scott says
LOL…if you are really an EMT aren’t you effectively saying you want residents of the AV to stop providing you with job security?
Tracey D says
By the looks of the picture, the existing shopping center where Karen’s kitchen is will be gone. Does any one know if that’s what’s going to happen?
William says
I don’t get it. For all the complaining about the AV, every time I turn around some new development, business, restaurant or other amenity shows up in Palmdale.
I can’t take it. There is so much new stuff to absorb. What to do? What to do?
Tim Scott says
Could it be that all the people complaining just don’t have a clue? At least as compared to people who have hundreds of millions of dollars to invest, anyway.
Tom says
Mike C, Ask way would anyone invest 200 million in this armpit of a town. Mike for a person or group to have 200 million to invest its probably because they are smarter then you and they know what you know not. To invest 200 million means Research and Development along with other business analysis came into play. Always remember Palmdale is only 59min from the #1or 2 cities in America.
Tim Scott says
Given the aging population, health care is a guaranteed growth industry for the next twenty years at least. This is the most populated county in the US, and where else in LA county do you find 17 acres with two minute freeway access at a price that makes development possible? This investment is basically a “no brainer”.
MJ says
Well done City of Palmdale!
Donna McNew says
I think this is a great plan, much needed services in the AV. I hope it will nudge Kaiser Perminente to build the desparatly needed hospital in Lancaster.
MikeC says
Why would anyone invest 200 million dollars in a washed up shot out armpit of the world town like Palmdale? The only other place in the world worse then Palmdale to put it though would be Lancaster. I hope this place is set up for all the section 8 low life’s that will be banging on their front doors.
Tim Scott says
The number of ways this post indicates that you are out of touch with reality is truly remarkable. If you don’t like it here, move, and don’t let the door hit ya where nature split ya.
LOL says
LOL, Tim Scott and MikeC have a lot in common! They are both angry men.
Annon says
Well said Tim…. lol
Tracey says
I guess you haven’t visited Cal [removed], oh I mean Cal city. That’s the true armpit of humanity. Lol
Question Authority says
You sound familiar, MikeC. Did you actually produce the racist hit mailer that Rex sent out against Johnathan Ervin, or did you do the slanted surveys that were used by Rex in those racist hit mailers. Are you, like Rex, at war with section 8?
Candy says
MikeC, where do you come off calling people on section 8 “low life”. There are many people who need that assistance due to disabilities and various other reasons. Because you need assistance doesn’t make you “low life”. Before you jump to judgement know what you’re speaking about. For the record in case you were going to pass judgement on me I don’t and never have needed any public assistance and am a VP of a well known company. I just am someone who doesn’t judge a book by its cover. I believe in peace and lending a helping hand to those in need.
