LLANO – An employee arriving for work Tuesday at a Llano company that provides water to construction companies discovered the owner suffering from serious injuries resulting from an assault, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.
Deputies and fire department personnel were dispatched at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, to the 26300 block of East Avenue W-8, said Lt. Ken Wright of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.
“He definitely appeared to have been assaulted,” Wright said of the victim, who was unresponsive and unable to tell deputies what happened to him.
A Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter airlifted the victim, whose name was withheld, to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, the lieutenant said.
The victim is listed in critical condition.The incident is being investigated as an assault and the investigation is in its preliminary stages.

UPDATED 8.29.15: The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has dentified the victim as 59-year-old Glenn Brittner of Llano. Brittner was pronounced dead at 9:22 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, coroner’s officials said. View our followup story here.
