ROSAMOND – Kern County detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating Angelia Wilkerson, a 33-year-old woman wanted for questioning in connection with a fatal shooting in Rosamond.
Howard Burley III was shot and killed around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, in the 3800 block of Fernwood Street.
The 27-year-old was shot multiple times while in his vehicle, according to a news release from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
“The suspect vehicle was described as a white, late 1990s, compact vehicle. The circumstances preceding the shooting are unknown and the weapon is still outstanding,” detectives said in the news release.
“Further investigation revealed Burley may have been in the company of Angelia Wilkerson the previous evening. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has identified Wilkerson as a person of interest and she is wanted for questioning,” the news release states.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to call Detective Erik Levig at 661-391-7593, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110, or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.

I am surprised at the number of people that have moved to the Antelope Valley from Compton and East LA.
What is bringing them here. Affordable housing? Jobs?
Johnny Trece says
I see them coming from the San Fernando Valley. Not good!

Here goes the bullcrap “she got super love for him” ? That alone made me mad where was she at during the funeral before anybody even knew she was possible suspect? Super love? I think not
[removed] says
The love is still real no need for explanations people are going to believe what they want.
Charlotte Walker says
Afraid or not afraid if she didnt part take in his death she would clear her damn name with the POLICE not run. I dont get where people use the AFRAID bullcrap to justify why someone is running. Running leads to suspicion of GULITY CONSCIENCE. If the women knew him and never intended any harm she would be helping getting justice served not with holding information.
Tim Scott says
What does helping the police have to do with justice? The police don’t care about justice. Their job is to MAKE AN ARREST. If a crime has been committed you talk to them at your own risk, because unless it looks like there is just no way to make it stick you are as good a candidate to arrest as anyone.
Not an idiot says
There goes Tim again. His hatred for police is quite serious. He makes no sense. He is so paranoid that it’s kinda funny but I guess not for him. He must really panic when he is out on the street if he comes across law enforcement. His propaganda is working. Law enforcement recruitment across the nation has been cut in half. Crime is up under the Obama administration. Maybe soon he can police himself.
Tim Scott says
I don’t even know how you could justify this claim that I “hate cops,” but I’ll give you something. I do say hateful things to cops on a fairly regular basis, in person. I actually seek them out, and I don’t do much panicking, ever. I believe that they deserve to know how people think of them rather than living in the artificial bubble their sycophants try to create for them.
But, I don’t do that here. All I do here is point out the absurdity of the whole sycophantic “yay cops” thing in a town where anyone smart enough to read can access an endless stream of reports from investigations that show our cops are certainly not worthy of a “yay cops.” And they certainly haven’t earned any unusual level of trust that they are interested in justice, so talking to them is ALWAYS a risk and usually best avoided if possible.
And before someone trots out the “always a few bad apples” excuse…if the “good apples” are too incompetent or unconcerned to do anything about the bad apples, they are just as much part of the problem. After a certain number of investigations and the subsequent millions of dollars spent by the county to get the department off the hook there comes a time to DEMAND that they police themselves. I think that time is now. More accurately, I think that time has long since come and gone, but better late now than later later.
Charlotte Walker says
Not every cop is bad just like not every black person is a idiot! Dont contradict yourself. The police job is to make a arrest CORRECT but its not just to arrest anyone. Believe it or not if this woman is arrested for murder justice is served. If she isnt then she would definatly have to have cleared her name and doing the interogatation process she may give the police more leads leading to the correct arrest. So agree to disagree if a beloved friend of mine was gunned down and I could be some sort of help i would definatly be in contact with the police.
Tim Scott says
And the primary interest of the police when they talked to you about the murder of your beloved friend would be to see if they could hang it on you so that they could move on from a closed case.
Reginald says
She didn’t have [removed] to do with him murdered…she got super love for that dude but people calling the police pointing them in her direction when she already talked to the detective’s and they acted like they had nothing to say to her…but trust and believe all these threats from her so called friends and homie… LOL…you come for her I’ll come for you
sierrahwy says
straight sucka!
LaChelle Burley says
That dude……that is my brother. My older brother. That broad, your friend family whatever no cares. No one cares about her feelings. We demand to know what happened. Your sorry threats……please. Please be quiet. No one cares how you guys feel and the way you think things should go. No one gives a S H I T.
[removed] says
That broad yall THINK had something to do with your brothers death will never give you answers so demand all you want cant tell something you dont know…
Regina Greenwood says
I pray to god that this woman comes forth and supply whatever information she can.
Johnny Trece says
She’s making it worst by refusing to be found, therefore becoming much more suspect.
R says
Or maybe shes afraid shes already beingbtargeted by his family
sierrahwy says
Ain’t no maybes. She ran because she is guilty, innocent people don’t hide. They tell the truth, right away.
Tim Scott says
The only people who willingly talk to cops are stupid people. Innocent makes no difference whatsoever. Cops play that “only guilty people do blah blah blah” card all the time in an effort to get people to voluntarily surrender their rights.
“Refusing to answer makes you look guilty” so surrender your right to remain silent.
“We can take this down to the station” except they can only do that if they can demonstrate probable cause to a judge.
“We just want to take a look around…what, do you have something to hide?” because we know we can’t get a warrant so we are hoping you will waive your rights regarding illegal searches.
On and on and on.
John says
@Tim Scott
I agree. Anything you say can and will be held against you. That includes any calls you made to the 911 operator.
If I was in the same situation as Angelia, I would get a lawyer and turn myself in. You can’t run from the law forever.
sierrahwy says
The poster states he may have been with her the previous evening.I think they were friends,so at the least you answer a few ?’s about your friend and that’s that. Not run, move away or plead the fifth. What kind of friend are you to people Tim?A person presumably comes to visit you, doesn’t make it home, and you don’t call anyone about it or show up to his funeral?Terrible.
Truth Time says
So you must talk to the cops a lot then Tim
Tim Scott says
“Answer a few questions about it and that’s that.” What freakin’ universe are you living in that you think you get to say “that’s that.”
Cops aren’t looking for facts, they are looking for guilt, in any way they can prove it, and whether that guilt is painted on a killer or a bystander makes no difference as far as closing the case goes. No matter what you think you are accomplishing; help them find a killer, help them ensure justice is done, whatever; all you are doing by answering any question they have is giving them something that they can and definitely do want to use against YOU.
sierrahwy says
Tim,that’s that for the innocent.Never that simple for the guilty.
Tim Scott says
“For the innocent”?
Who are these “innocent” of which you speak? In US law there is NO SUCH THING as innocent. There is guilty, and not guilty. A finding rendered in a court. The job of the cop is to GET YOU TO COURT with sufficient evidence to convict you, not to make a determination that you are this mythical “innocent.”
I get it, you want to believe the cops are just great guys, justice pops out their necks like they were a Pez dispenser, and rainbows fly out of people’s butts when they fart…but get in touch with reality. If you make contact with the justice system, in ANY way, have an expert with you and firmly on your side, or withdraw as fast as you can.
sierrahwy says
Tim,you don’t get it.I tried, but if you think evading the law helps a persons case, please, next time you’re about to be pulled over, just gas it.
sierrahwy says
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/innocent
sierrahwy says
This definition doesn’t apply to her though
Tim Scott says
When I get pulled over I put my license, registration, insurance card, and my attorney’s business card out the window in a ziplock bag.
sierrahwy says
Next time run, since evading does not indicate guilt.
sierrahwy says
They should understand, hey alot of people don’t want to talk to them.
