PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library, in partnership with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, is now providing the opportunity for Palmdale residents to get free legal assistance.
The service is offered on Tuesdays, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the Library, located at 700 East Palmdale Boulevard.
A variety of civil law topics will be covered by this free service, and Spanish-language assistance is also available.
Appointments are highly recommended and can be made by calling 661-267-5600. Walk-ins are also accepted, schedule permitting.
“We are extremely proud to be able to offer this service to our patrons,” stated Library Director Thomas Vose. “The Library exists to provide information, and now, thanks to the great people at LAFLA, we can be even more helpful to the public.”
The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles is the frontline law firm for economically disadvantaged and low-income people. Their mission is to achieve equal justice for poor and low-income people in greater Los Angeles, changing lives through direct representation, systems change and community education.

Is this service available for Littlerock residents?

I agree completely. I grew up in Lancaster and NEVER expected I would come back to this valley. I had to come back to take care of my parents and in fairly short order moved to Palmdale. Now I have no desire to leave.
Ryan Hunt says
I pray for good health and vitality for your parents, Tim. You are a good man for being there for them. More power to you.
Tim Scott says
Thank you. They have both passed on now, but I appreciate the sentiments.
Odd note on the topic at hand…when I came back I fully intended that the day they didn’t need me any more would be the LAST time I saw the Antelope Valley…now I will probably die here myself since I can’t really picture myself going anywhere else.

I cannot get over how innovative and awesome Palmdale is. I was thinking of moving back to the SFV so that I Am closer to some possible work down there but this city is just too cool…or hot to leave. I hope to find good work up here.

I second that Ryan Hunt. I, too, am constantly amazed at the new businesses that open regularly in Palmdale in and around the Antelope Valley Mall that is like a magnet for more and more to come. I’ve never eaten at Chick Fi A and it’s opening this month, so I’ll have to try it.
The same is true on the 47th Street East corridor which is unrecognizable from a few years ago.
That makes 2 distinct retail areas in the city. In the future, there will be 2 high speed rail systems connected at the Transportation Center with new housing in that old area. Eventually, the airport wil finally be up and running.
Palmdale has done well as far as water conservation too and a new power plant will be attractive to new businesses as well.
Once the new district council elections settle in and become routine, Palmdale has enough momentum going for it already that not even outside interests can reverse it, try as they might.
Palmdale has become the ‘premier’ city to live in in the Antelope Valley thanks to Mayor Ledford’s hard and effective work over 2 decades, plus the City Council and staff and excellent City managers over the same time period.
I have to reside somewhere and I’m glad to be in Palmdale and look forward to the future here. And, I have to get back in shape for skiing which is close by provided we get some snow. Plus, I have the best neighbors I’ve ever had and I’ve lived in over a dozen cities in California over many years.
If there is a God, she’s been very good to me. It can’t be all luck.
