LOS ANGELES – A proposed ordinance introduced Tuesday would allow the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to offer rewards of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the apprehension of sex offenders who abscond while on parole or probation. [Read the proposed ordinance here.]
Current county code allows rewards for information on crimes resulting in injury, death or damage to property.
Supervisor Michael Antonovich pressed for the change, saying state prison officials are looking for 10 sex offenders who either failed to report to their parole officer, cut off their GPS ankle bracelet or let the batteries die in their tracking device.
All 10 were last known to be living in the Antelope Valley, according to Antonovich.
GPS warrants for sex offenders have increased up to 70 percent, according to the draft ordinance, which did not cite a source.
Jessica’s Law, approved by California voters in 2006, requires that high- risk sex offenders be tracked for life with GPS monitors.
The proposed ordinance, which would allow for reward amounts to be increased if “the community is at great risk,” will be placed on a future agenda for consideration.

In California, it is a criminal offense to stalk an individual. In fact, if caught, charged and convicted a person can be placed on the sex offender registry and also wear a bracelet. Think that’s wrong? It is. But it’s truth. I’m wearing one now because i was tracking someone who was harassing a family member.

They should do sex offenders and thugs like they do with pig, deer etc. and let people buy a tag.

Great news!
Thanks to the sex offenders there will be more job opportunities in the AV!
Become a sex offender hunter and will make lots of money without have to commute far out of the AV.
David R Gardiner says
This is the least we should to snag a serial sex offender considering the fact that a serial animal abuser warrants a reward of 50 grand….

All 10 were last known to be living in the Antelope Valley, according to Antonovich?
Once again, The AV.
WHY???
Ryan Hunt says
Deserts seem to have been popular dumping places all the way back to antiquity. Keeping them away from denser populations and in a place where the sky rules the landscape so that the eyes in the sky can keep watch on them..

Seriously? Read it again. [All of the 10 refereed to in this story], were last known to be living in the Antelope Valley. There are 3,268 registered sex offenders living in Los Angeles County as of September 09, 2015.
Hopefully you will do your own face palm.
Keep Saying says
Oh!! And this make you so happy?
READ AGAIN! “Just Saying”
Doesnt say out of the 3,268, 10 live in AV
It clearly states;
“10 sex offenders who either FAILED to report to their parole officer, cut off their GPS ankle bracelet or let the batteries die in their tracking device.
All 10 were last known to be living in the Antelope Valley”
So, that been said, the other sex offenders (which could amount to half of your research) living in paradise in AV are been “good citizens”.
Not Saying says
Yes! Read it again!!
It states that the 10 sex offenders that FAILED to report to parole happen to live in the AV! What a coincidence!
But dont you worry just saying the rest of your sex offenders neighbors are reporting to parole.

Oh goodie, I hope this ordinance passes, I’d make a part time job of going on the Hunt for some sex offenders. Dawg the Bounty Hunter style with a bit more class.
Johnny Trece says
You know what cracks me up about Dawg the Bounty Hunter? Before he catches his bounty criminals, he portrays them as highly dangerous low life scum who deserve no mercy from him. After he catches them, he treats them very nice, offers them a cigarette, and tells them that they are good, lost people. I guess that’s Show Business, right?
