Man dies after assault in Palmdale

PALMDALE – A man who was assaulted in Palmdale about a week ago died Monday, authorities said.

Dylan Hernandez, 28, of Lancaster died about 3:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

“The victim had been previously assaulted and transported to a local hospital on Sunday, October 18, 2015,” according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The assault happened around 1:53 a.m. in the 40100 block of 10th Street West in Palmdale, according to the sheriff’s press release.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives responded to Palmdale Regional Medical Center on Monday to investigate the circumstances surrounding Hernandez’s death.

No suspect information was released and no additional information was available Monday afternoon.

  3. Dylan was loved by and loved so many. He did so much with the short time he had. He had a story that serves as an inspiration to those who knew him. It’s now our responsibility to share his story so he can continue inspiring those who didn’t. Justice will be served whether in this lifetime or the next. The sad thing is… To whoever did this to him, Dylan was the type who would’ve done whatever he could to help you and get you back on track in life.

        • I think LEAPS has done a lot more for Lancaster than what the media has reported. The people need to know that the LEAPS program has been a success and a vital tool for law enforcement.

          LEAPS aids capture of double murder suspect.
          LEAPS helps deputies find suicidal man.
          LEAPS helps catch burglary suspect.
          LEAPS help catch absconded sex offender.
          LEAPS helps deputies catch armed suspect.
          LEAPS helps catch Walmart thieves.
          LEAPS help catch suspect in stolen car.
          LEAPS helps deputies catch man accused of pointing laser pointer at a commercial aircraft.

            Were all those cases reported in the local news media as LEAPS being the primary tool for capturing those people?

            For some reason, this is the first time such as list has appeared here if it was always available and accurately stated by you with no sources or links.

            Where did you get that information since over at GPOoL, it was noted that the stats for the effectiveness of LEAPS was reportedly hard to come by if not impossible?

            And, they are pretty good at looking for stuff like that at GPOoL.

            Please let us know where you got the stats so people can find them in the future and be well-informed about the program which gets a lot of bad press.

          • All those reports was from The AV Times website. Go to the top right corner and type LEAPS in the search bar then press enter.

            We don’t hear all the good work the sheriff helicopter does for the Antelope Valley. It seems to be the same for the LEAPS program.
