CASTAIC – A 29-year-old man was jailed in lieu of $1 million bail after his arrest on suspicion of killing his wife, who was found dying at a mobile home park north of Castaic.
Deputies and paramedics found the victim, 26-year-old Nicole Medina about 8:40 a.m. Saturday at a mobile home park in the 36200 block of Paradise Ranch Road, just off the Templin Highway exit from Interstate 5 in the Grapevine Pass area, after her husband reported she was unresponsive, Deputy Ryan Rouzan of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
She was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, Rouzan said.
An autopsy Tuesday revealed that Medina died from blunt force trauma to her head, according to the sheriff’s department.
The woman’s husband, Robert Danielson, agreed to be interviewed by sheriff’s investigators and was arrested Saturday evening after being questioned, according to the sheriff’s department.
Online inmate records show he was booked early Sunday at the sheriff’s Palmdale Station.
The couple’s two children, 1 and 3, are being cared for by family members, officials said.
