Help detectives catch Lancaster arsonist

LANCASTER – Sheriff’s detectives need the public’s help in catching the culprit behind a string of arson fires in Lancaster.

“Lancaster Station has been experiencing a rise in arson fires along Lancaster Boulevard, from 10th Street West to Sierra Highway. Since Nov. 1, there have been eight trash/dumpster fires,” Deputy Kit Gruppie of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station stated in a special bulletin. [View it here.]

Someone was captured on surveillance video setting one of the fires, according to Gruppie.

The suspect is described as an adult male of an unknown race, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall, with a thin to medium build. At the time of the fire, the suspect was wearing a tan hooded jacket with dark-colored pants.

      • Because they don’t have enough deputies to put on the job… Why? All the money that could be used for it is going to Rex’s buddy for the failed “eye in the sky” boondoggle!
