LANCASTER –A pickup truck driver suffered critical injuries Monday in a crash involving an Antelope Valley Transit Authority bus in Lancaster.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at 70th Street East and East Avenue K, according to Deputy Ryan Bodily of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.
“[An] Antelope Valley Transit bus was going eastbound on Avenue K when a red Chevy Silverado pickup failed to stop at the posted stop sign,” Bodily said, noting that the pickup truck was headed southbound on 70th Street East.
“The truck went in front of the bus, causing a collision,” Bodily said. “At this time it doesn’t appear [that] alcohol or drugs are a factor.”
The truck’s driver was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital with critical injuries, but is expected to survive, according to Bodily.
“There were three passengers on the bus who were transported with minor injuries,” Bodily said. “The rest of the 15 occupants of the bus appeared to have minor or no injuries.”
Authorities did not name the truck’s driver.
The incident remains under investigation, and no further information was immediately available Monday night.

It’s time for this intersection to be made into a four way stop. Too many people try to race the east/west bound traffic. People.. please slow down…
