LANCASTER – State Sen. Bob Huff, R-San Dimas, teamed with Assemblyman Tom Lackey, R-Palmdale, and state Sen. Sharon Runner, R-Lancaster, to help deliver electronic goodies to the Academy for Advancement of Children with Autism, Antelope Valley campus.
The group delivered seven LeapFrog Brand LeapTV Educational Gaming Systems and 13 LeapFrog brand LeapPad3 Learning Tablets to children at the facility on Saturday, Dec. 12. The devices were collected during an educational toy drive at Santa Anita Park.
The premier toys come with game cartridges and carrier bags and are valued at $2,000.
The event was sponsored by the Purist Group, a car club that began its toy drive in 2014.
“It was such a joy getting these Leap Pads and Leap TVs into the hands of Antelope Valley children who can really benefit,” Huff stated. “I’m pleased we can assist these students as they work to advance academically.”
The Academy for Advancement of Children with Autism is a school committed to helping children reach their highest potential. The Academy’s goal is to assist students in increasing academic focus and build upon strengths while minimizing challenges.
