LANCASTER — Waste Management of Antelope Valley is inviting local residents to recycle their Christmas trees through the company’s curbside tree collection program.
“The holiday season is all about giving, which is why we’re asking residents to give back to the planet this year by recycling their trees,” stated Josh Mann of Waste Management. “After they have been used to brighten up any holiday celebration, Christmas trees can be recycled and given back to nature in the form of mulch. We’re asking that everyone make their festivities a little greener by doing their part.”
Waste Management will collect trees for residents in Palmdale, Lancaster, Quartz Hill and California City, from Dec. 28 through Jan. 8 on customers’ scheduled collection days.
Guidelines for tree collection
When placing trees for collection, customers are asked to:
- Remove all decorations, including tinsel, lights, ornaments and tree stands.
- Place the tree on the curb for recycling.
- Place only un-flocked trees at the curb.
Waste Management will also offer free drop-off locations from Dec. 28 through Jan. 8 at:
Antelope Valley Landfill: 1200 West City Ranch Road, Palmdale
Lancaster Landfill: 600 E Avenue F, Lancaster
California City Drop Off Center: 19901 Neuralia Road, California City

I thought monopolies were illegal…Benz should “not” be allowed to obtained by Waste Management (greedy scum)(IMHO)

It’s not technically a monopoly; there are still other waste companies in the U.S., with the two largest companies (WM & Republic) only taking about half the work; hence they’re still able to avoid antitrust. This is not good news for the AV though.
“The buyer, Houston-based Waste Management Inc., said Monday it expects the sale to close Aug. 1, which is the same date Benz told local authorities last week it plans to lay off 132 employees spread across eight locations in Tehachapi, Ridgecrest and Rosamond.”
This’ll likely be in addition to any office jobs WM decides to move back to Houston.

Please people recycle your boxes, wrapping paper, and anything else that can be placed in your green barrel…. Alot of residents out here are unaware or just lazy and don’t recycle anything. Your green barrel should be more full than the trash can, ideally.
