Johny Chingas says
All of you People criticizing these City Events, are real losers.
You don’t like it. Don’t worry, the rest of the Community will appreciate it.
I am sure you are the same people who criticize the AV Fair event, the Color Vibe Events, and you don’t even attend, even less sponsor it.
Get out Palmdale If you are NOT Happy living here. There are a lot of vacancies in Lynwood, Compton, Long Beach, Panorama City, even around Riverside, and San Bernadino…losers.
Wtf says
Wtf are you smokin’? Nobody has criticized anything on this thread.
Katrina says
For your 411 you sound like the loser calling out people that you dont even know losers just because they live in other areas. Yes Palmdale is a great place to live & I love it. But you are the one acting like the loser, so grow up & think before you type.
Tim Scott says
I generally come down hard on people who criticize Palmdale too…but I don’t actually see any here Johnny so maybe you wanna back it down a notch, eh?
Flint says
Right on! Or move to Lancaster! I don’t want those people living here any more and I think we ought to do something about it!
Get me out says
I am trying to get out of Lancaster. Our mayor is a kook. The town has gone to crap since he’s been here.
Flint says
Move to east Palmdale. Rents are cheap, homes are cheaper, and everything is super nice. I like over by Palmdale High School because the neighborhoods are safe since most people have pit bulls. The main issue is that the police are racist and kill people, but that happens everywhere.
Wrong Room says
You’re in the wrong chat room for this topic, if you want to talk about racist police & police killings go to https://www.theavtimes.com/2015/12/23/activist-group-issues-statement-on-fatal-deputy-involved-shooting/
Get me out says
It is cheaper to live in Lancaster. Because of the high crime, lousy roads, and kooky mayor, the demand for housing makes the prices in Palmdale higher.
When I am shopping or eating in Palmdale I run into the police all the time. They have been no problem.
We have pit bulls in our neighborhood but don’t tell our mayor. He will have them destroyed. He enjoys that.
No one is more racist than the man who sent out political mailers calling an African American city council candidate a “gang candidate”. He is also the same person who declared war on Section 8 which sucked the entire AV into a costly lawsuit. Then he goes and supports someone who makes statements against homosexuals and Jews.
Please get me out of Lancaster.
Flint says
Get me out…
I know right! Lancaster is awful and East Palmdale is really nice. You’re allowed to have pit bulls in east Palmdale though so in my experience they’re kind of everywhere and it makes things a lot safer. About a month ago I was visiting a friend on about east 20th and Palmdale Blvd and a pit bull ripped apart this little dog. The owner got his pit bull back and that little dog learned a lesson. Pit bulls are really friendly dogs it’s just that they have a bad reputation.
Flint says
Timmy,
Not parody. Actually happened. I do however enjoy your humor. Especially the whole fascists and move to another country schtick.
Tim says
I have never had a problem with Pitt Bulls. But I live in East Lancaster, where we have no Pit Bulls, and no crime, thanks to our all-knowing mayor. Just don’t tell him that there are a whole punch of Pit Bulls that he missed killing and that it’s a war zone out here. I wouldn’t want to ruin his delusional thoughts of what is really going on. Ignorance is bliss, and he is one blissful ignoramus.
Flint says
Pit bulls make this world better and if you want a sweet deal on a Palmdale pad, check into east Palmdale. For whatever reason property values are low in east Palmdale.
AV Truth says
East Palmdale is Paradise compared to the cesspool known as East Lancaster. Scratch that. A cesspool serves a purpose. Our mayor has written off East Lancaster.
Tim Scott says
Truth, AVTruth. I moved to east Palmdale from west Lancaster and considered it a huge upgrade. Bottom line, Rex and his commitment to cronyism has dragged the entire city down.
There is nowhere in Palmdale that I woundn’t rather live than anywhere in Lancaster.
Flint says
I would much rather live on the west side or qhill than the east side of either city or rock or lake la. I’m sure there are nice neighborhoods here and there but overall it’s pretty grim in those old dilapidated neighborhoods on both sides.
Not Me says
Who wants to live in a city with a whack job mayor who is now trying to use the murder of innocent people to make political points?
Flint says
I’m more concerned with the quality of the neighborhood than who the mayor is. You would rather live in a trailer park in Palmdale than a nice neighborhood by the community college? Hmmm… I suppose if that’s the case you are very affected by local politics.
Get Me Out says
If you are comparing trailer parks, I would pick One in Palmdale. If you’re comparing nice neighborhoods I would pick the next day put in Palmdale. You are comparing East Palmdale and East Lancaster I would pick East Palmdale. It’s that simple.
Flint says
Get me out,
Some people were arguing they would prefer to live anywhere in Palmdale than Lancaster. I think that is ridiculous. There are some not so glamorous areas of the east side of both cities and refusing to admit that is just being argumentative.
Tim Scott says
I am involved with city government wherever I’ve lived, so yeah it does make a difference to me. Meanwhile, I am not living in a trailer park, but I’m not particularly opposed. Minimal yard maintenance is a definite plus.
Of course, I know how to get along with all kinds of people. I’m guessing Flint needs to be in a gated community to feel secure.
Flint says
Not having a yard to maintain would be pretty great. Comedy gold! Lol
SRonay says
I agree with you
Steve says
Great idea! I’m having difficult enough time getting our LOCAL hotels and restaurants to promote our attractions! I am frustrated to no end by these places directing visitors (softball and soccer tournaments) to Magic Mtn or Valencia Mall.
Flint says
Or the poppy fest would be good.
Tim Scott says
Magic mountain I can sort of understand, but the mall? Why would anyone drive to Valencia to go to a mall? We have a really nice mall.
Flint says
I know many people that prefer to go to the Valencia mall. I couldn’t say why since I avoid the mall here or there, but I assume it’s just larger and Valencia is a nice spot to spend a day.
Curious says
For more information, call 661-267-5611.
Tim Scott says
I’m curious whether Palmdale has made any effort to get some sort of reciprocity from these cities? If we are organizing bus trips to support their events, are they doing anything to support our events? Would they if they were asked?
Call says
For more information, call 661-267-5611.
No says
I called, they said no.
Tim Scott says
Might be something to recommend then. I’ll pursue that.
Since we are busing people (and their money) to their events, and there is undoubtedly contact between our city staff and theirs working out discounts and schedules and such, a little dropping of “hey, how about an Oxnard sponsored trip to Dry Town Water Park?” would be pretty reasonable to work in, just for example. Or the Air Park. Or something from the concert series. Lots of opportunities for a little quid pro quo.
