Contestants sought for 3rd annual Miss Latina AV

PALMDALE – Pageant officials are seeking contestants for the third annual Miss Latina AV, to be held April 23 at the Eastside Performing Arts Complex in Lancaster.

The pageant is open to females, between the ages of 6 and 17, who are attending school in the Antelope Valley and have a willingness to promote Latin heritage and pride, according to pageant coordinator Waunette Cullors.

The contestants will participate in activities that focus on family, education, culture, community and a healthy lifestyle, and will serve as role models for the Antelope Valley’s Latino community, according to Cullors.

Applications for the third annual Miss Latina AV Pageant will be accepted until Monday, March 7.

    • And yet the flags those girls are holding is what looks to be Colombia, maybe Ecuador or Venezuela, either Cuba or Uruguay, and yes Mexico, all of which are Latin, Central or South American countries.

      But, please, do continue to show your ignorance of outside cultures. It helps us to recognize those who refuse to look outside their narrow minded views.

    • I called last year for information, I didn’t receive a call back for a week and a half, prompting me to leave another message.After they finally called back , the person on the phone sounded very young. I gave them my email, i was emailed by a very young girl (possibly a contestant, her picture was on her email) and it seemed very unorganized.
