PALMDALE – The Palmdale and Lancaster sheriff’s stations are hosting a food drive this month.
The annual event is held in honor of Cesar Chavez Week and supports the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which has numerous distribution points within the Antelope Valley.
Organizers are seeking the public’s help in supporting this cause.
Nonperishable food products, including canned foods and meats, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, and rice, can be dropped off at the local sheriff’s stations in Palmdale and Lancaster.
The Palmdale sheriff’s station is located at 750 East Avenue Q (corner of Sierra Highway and Avenue Q). The Lancaster sheriff’s station is located at 501 West Lancaster Boulevard.
Each station will have a bin for receiving food donations in the front lobby, open 24 hours a day. Supporters can also donate online at www.LAFoodBank.com.
Donations will be accepted through March 30.
For more information on this effort, contact Deputy Eric Caplinger at 661-272-2588 or Deputy Josh Stamsek at 661-940-3832.
