PALMDALE – Children enjoyed face painting, temporary tattoos, balloon art and story time, while some attendees took to the stage and acted out scenes from various Shakespeare plays at the Palmdale Book Festival & ARTown Fusion this past Saturday.
The inaugural event took place at Legacy Commons and Legacy Park and was presented by the Palmdale City Library and Legacy Commons for Active Seniors.
Local authors held book signings on the grounds of Legacy Park, and the Friends of the Library offered great deals on used books at its book sale.
Inside Legacy Commons, works by local artists were displayed inside the main auditorium.
Special guests the High-D Boys kept visitors entertained with their special brand of musical comedy.
Local artists who participated included: Keri Olson, Julia Grammer, Jeanette Taylor, Juanita McWilliams, Pamela Lacey, Katrina Castillo, Juan Jimenez, Amanda Alvarez, Martina Hernandez, Adrian Abrego, Tony Escalante, Michele Streenz, Bruce Robertson, Liz Franco, Gwyneth Wilson, Kristi Arzola, and students from Palmdale High School.
