PALMDALE – The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Traffic Services Detail will be conducting a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Palmdale this Friday, June 24, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 2 a.m., authorities announced.
Deputies will be looking for signs of alcohol and drug impairment. They also will check for proper licensing and will strive to delay motorists only momentarily. When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving.
Drivers caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.
Funding for this operation is provided to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Hey I just want to point out these facts, (this is not a grant from some big government name, It is paid for by the U.S tax payer) 2.The percentage of drunk drivers actually caught is very low, To low to justify the cost or the violation of our constitutional rights. 3. If you are an American citizen and happen to have some problem with oh lets say the DMV suspends your license (and they don’t notify you 99 percent of the time) your car is impounded for 30 days,But if you are Not a citizen all you have to do is bring a licensed driver back with you and they give the car back that same evening. Remember its our money paying for this! if your ok with this I guess you will be at the next book burning comrade.
