LANCASTER (CNS) – Sheriff’s traffic investigators are asking for the public’s help to locate any witnesses to a fatal traffic crash in Lancaster.
The collision took place at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the intersection of West Avenue G and 55th Street West, according to a news release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.
According to the sheriff’s department, a 2012 Freightliner, three-axle water truck was heading west on West Avenue G toward 55th Street West when the truck experienced a tire failure. The truck then veered onto the north shoulder of the road where it hit a chain link fence and rolled over.
The driver was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital where he died. His name has not yet been released.
There was no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in this crash, sheriff’s officials said.
