PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale will begin a road resurfacing project Thursday, Sept. 8, on Rancho Vista Boulevard, from 15th Street West to 10th Street East.
The work will be done from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and is expected to end on Friday, Sept. 30.
The $1.1 million project was awarded to RC Becker. The project will resurface 577,000 square feet of pavement, roughly one percent of the arterial network.
“This method of pavement preservation will ensure the streets will maintain performance and utilize the existing pavement asset an additional 20 years before the area will need to be revisited,” stated Palmdale Public Works Director Mike Mischel.
The project is funded by a $1.1 million street resurfacing gas tax fund.
“The city of Palmdale has 504 miles of roads, totaling over 91.8 million square feet of asphalt,” noted Mischel. “Regular maintenance of roads is an important part of the city’s ongoing Capital Improvement Projects.”

I wish they would fix our roads in Lancaster like that instead of that cheap black coating. It looks good for a couple weeks but then you realize it doesn’t do anything for the bumps or cracks.
Mr fed up says
its not black paint, only people that nvr did construction makes comemments about what they think it looks like. Its liquid tar, they use to fill cracks, there using the the tar to repave the streets, without having to dig up tbe entire road 3 feet under, instead break up a foot under, its called cost effective, alot of pavement companys do this
Tim says
The black paint, or “oil”, is crap.and a worthless and cheap band aid. It is painted over cracks and does not fill enough. Remember when Rex was bragging how he would be selling it to cities all across the Southwest?Just like his piece of crap LEAPS, this road paint is another Parris fantasy failure. He should stick with destroying the desert with his solar farms. While it exposes us to Valley Fever, creates particulate pollution, and is aesthecially horrific, it does produce electricity. It won’t save Bangladesh, though. That is tragic.

Rex tried to sell garbage too with Ecolution. One of these day’s he’ll finally have a successful sale of something. Hopefully it’s his Lancaster house and he finally decides to stay at the beach mansion for good.
Rexfraud says
This is a poor product. That is why no one but Lancaster is using Traction Seal or whatever they call it. It is snake oil and one in a long list of fraudulent products and schemes from the Parris Administration. Now he is bamboozling the churches into thinking his homeless tax will do anything about the homeless problem. The tax is a cover to raise money for Sheriff’s since he has squandered so much through lawsuits and failed ideas like LEAPS.
Mac says
My buddy who does roadwork for a living laughs at TractionSeal. It will do an ok job on good surfaces, but when you slap it on pot holes and cracks that permeate Lancaster’s roads, it is like putting lipstick on a pig.
Sal says
How come no other towns are buying Traction Seal if it is so good? Probably the same reason they are’nt buying LEAPS. Both products suck.
See my Tax $$ says
Great move I love to SEE my tax $$ work. Continue to resurface resuface & Beautification of the city is much needed.
Rusty Shackleford says
I know worse streets that need to be fixed and all they do is put Rough road ahead. How lazy
Tim says
Thank goodness they’re not using that cheap black paint like they are in Lancaster. Whose bright idea was that? We though the bird music to stop crime was a dumb idea. Black paint on roads may be dumber.
Jason says
Chances are it will be something similar
Laughing says
But the loose pebbles hitting the windshield and chipping the paint are so much fun before they coat it in black sticky oil that takes days to dry.
