LANCASTER – World famous game show host Peter Marshall will be one of the many highlights of the 26th annual Senior Expo, happening this Thursday, Oct. 20.
Themed “The Game of Life…,” the premier annual event for active seniors in the Antelope Valley begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. at the AV Fairgrounds, located at 2551 West Avenue H in Lancaster.
Senior Expo offers a full day of entertainment, giveaways, free bingo, free health screenings and seasonal flu shots for seniors 62 and over. It also features more than 100 vendor booths offering useful information, products and services.
Celebrity guest Peter Marshall is best known as the original host of The Hollywood Squares, and has nearly 50 television, movie, and Broadway credits. Marshall will host “Let’s Make A Deal” with the audience, and seniors will have the opportunity to win one of many prizes. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in a costume to increase their chances of being selected to participate in the game.
Other Senior Expo highlights will include the naming of the new “Senior of the Year” and the “Veteran’s Community Service Award,” which recognizes an individual or organization that makes a difference in the lives of those who have served their country. Winners and nominees will be recognized during an awards ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m.
Free lunch for seniors age 62 and older will be provided from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the courtyard between the H.W. Hunter and Van Dam Pavilions. For all other attendees, Friends of the Fair will offer a variety of delicious food at reasonable prices.
Those who bring a canned food item to donate to Grace Resource Center will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 Gift Card courtesy of Antelope Valley Mall.
