PALMDALE – No one was arrested for driving under the influence, but 21 drivers were arrested for other violations at a DUI/ driver’s license checkpoint in Palmdale this past weekend, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale Station conducted the checkpoint from 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, to 2 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Avenue S and 37th Street East in Palmdale, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The results of the checkpoint are as follows:
- 1408 vehicles were screened at the checkpoint.
- 18 drivers were cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while suspended/revoked.
- Two drivers were cited/arrested for operating a vehicle without an Ignition Interlock Device.
- One person was cited/arrested for allowing an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle.
- 12 vehicles were released per DUI/CDL checkpoint release procedures.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting additional DUI/driver’s license checkpoints and DUI saturation patrols throughout the year as part of an ongoing commitment to lowering deaths and injuries upon streets and highways.
Funding for these operations is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

If you think these DUI checkpoints are bogus you will have no problem with this…
The eclipse was fake. It was the US government placing a huge disc in the sky that transmitted messages of Trump acceptance and calming vibes. That is why so many people had headaches in their frontal lobes… the pain of believing that transmitted message!

American is not a language. English is.

Spanish, French, English, and numerous native indigenous tongues are the language of the United States. This is what happens when foreign nations invade a populated land and then all fight over it before one ‘wins’ overall but still has never set a language as law.

I do not speak Spanish well enough to translate and Google is having problems with this one.

THANK YOU LEO’s! Some of us appreciate the work you do to keep unlawful people from driving. None of those arrested should have been driving. They are the kind that cause hit & run accidents and have no respect for the lawful abiding citizens.

LASD’s objectives are (1) atriting your Founding Father’s 4th amendment guarantee, and (2) leveraging and expropriating capital and assets sufficient to sustain the local Michael D. Antonovich courthouse’s fiscal budget, a cool half million bux per month, minimum, US$6 million per year, just to run the place. Reason LASD isn’t abating DUI, or making DWI arrests is, it isn’t their objective…

Yet they made 21 arrests for DUI over the weekend in Lancaster. All the ones stopped were breaking the law in one way or another. Should officers just ignore that? Especially the 2 for driving without an interlock device, that means that they have prior DUI convictions and are only allowed to drive with such a device.
The courts have upheld the constitutionality of Sobriety Check points time and time again. The fact remains that people are the ones driving without licenses or insurance, they made that decision, not the sheriff’s department.

Drinks and festivities go hand in hand. It’s the responsibility of the participate to decide to drive. It’s so simple. If you drink don’t drive. You can still enjoy without driving and putting some unsuspected person in imminent danger. Also if the participate doesn’t drive then LASD will not be pulling them over for DUI/DWI. Hmmm! don’t drink and drive and I want end up on blotter or slab.
