LANCASTER – A motorcycle deputy was injured in a crash Thursday while responding to a call in Lancaster.
The crash occurred about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, in the area of Avenue L and 55th Street West, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The deputy, who was responding to a report of a broken gas line, was struck by a vehicle that had pulled over for other responding law enforcement vehicles and pulled away from the curb too soon, striking the deputy’s motorcycle, Schrader said.
The crash was being investigated as an accident.
The deputy was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries and was in stable condition Thursday night, according to Schrader.
