ACTON – Coroner’s officials have identified the man who was struck and killed Thursday night by a Metrolink train in Acton.
The pedestrian was identified as 34-year-old Jordan Smith, said Lt. Dave Smith of the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office, adding that he had no place of residence for the victim.
The crash was reported at 7:33 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, about a mile south of the Vincent-Grade Acton Station, said Michael Atchue of Metrolink.
Smith, who was in an area where pedestrians are not allowed, died at the scene, according to Atchue.
No passengers were injured.

On behalf of Jordan’s family we apologise to the driver of the train and the passengers for his actions. We know there was nothing you could do.

Sad, sick, thoughtless self-important people are a minority. Caring, humane, good people still exemplify the majority and for that, I am grateful. — Jordan’s dad.
Jo says
Jordan, was a son, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew.
He was helping his dad take care of his mom who is unable to care for herself.
They are full time RV’rs.
Jordans death has traumatised his family and friends. They are grieving and at this time they need kindness and understanding.
A father is facing life without his son and that is not easy.
Brothers facing life without their brother.
please be kind. Jordan was/is loved more than you know.

I am appualed by some people’s posts which are clearly heartless and insensitive. Not knowing all the facts, it is plain to see that your words, which are now out there and can’t be taken back, were meant to intentionally hurt others. Maybe Jordan’s friends and family will be reading these comments…at a time when they are mourning the loss of their loved one…cruel, just cruel. I hope you find that in the future you will choose to leave the ugliness unsaid, and choose to speak life, instead of death.

America is a blame the victim society. Blame them for being born poor, blame them for being born on wrong side of the tracks, blame the victim for not having mommy and daddy grease some palms to get their sshhitbag kids into an elite snob college, blame them for ending up homeless due to age discrimination in hiring, blaming them for not investing for retirement although they never had any education in investing. The list goes on. Can’t expect much more from a country that elects a president that was born into the 1% but pretends he is a self made man.

The man who was killed was not from the rehab center. I had just seen him hours before this. He was a great man and will be missed.

I was raised, If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
Prayers for his family at this difficult time.
He was a kind & polite soul.
Kim says
Thank you, Carly. Jordan’s friends and family don’t need to see these comments that were meant to be hateful.
tired of selfish people says
someones selfishness held up a train with a few dozen riders just wanting to get home after a long day at work. if you wanna kill yourself, dont involve other people in it
Kim says
That is not okay, what you just said. How awful. You know nothing about this man.
Ex AV says
‘Tired’ gets an award for the dumbest, most idiotic comment in the history of mankind. Poor man gets annihilated by a f…king train and all you can worry about are the people being late to work. Please don’t vote nor procreate.

Oh my! It’s a pity. I could imagine he celebrated the new year with the hope of seeing the next year. Just too painful. RIP bro.

A mile south of the Vincent-Grade Acton Station? Thats where Acton Rehab is… its an LA County facility where a judge might send you if you commit an alcohol related crime… pretty much 3 months of endless AA meetings… but its low security, anyone can just walk away, and the train tracks are just 5 min away…..
Tammie says
This young man was not at the rehab. He was a very good person! Sending prayers to his family as they are good people!

Dear aManOfTruth: This is how destructive gossip gets started, by you inferring this man from Acton Rehab. Nothing in this article about Acton Rehab. You have a big mouth, so why don’t you work on yourself instead of speculating?
