Looks like Rex has 21 new potential candidates for his planning commission.

Then at one point in my life, we had lookouts that would text us so we could avoid the checkpoints. Now that I’m legal, I can’t find one. I’m so happy that I don’t have to look over my shoulder anymore. Checkpoints are a given, and any bitterness I might have had won’t be wasted on this.

Ah, the good old bad days. There’s an app for that now. ;)

Ooooh, did they catch 2 people with a half burned doobie in their ashtray, yet these so-called DUI’s passed the road-side impairment test like an Olympic superstar?
screw drivers that are drunk, high and unlicensed says
Thank You for getting drunk and high drivers off the road! As well as getting the unlicensed (which also means uninsured) drivers off the road. They have no right to driving a vehicle!
Billy bob says
Because that’s 21 less people we have to worry about. Great job! Keep up the good work. If u saved 1 life that night and u kept a drunk individual from driving and killing someone it was worth it.
Laughing says
Unlikely anything more than a few months of jail time maximum. Mostly fines. These same people are right back on the road. Catch, release, sport fishing for prize money! (Oh I likes that analogy!!)
Tim Scott says
More like random collection of an arbitrary tax, but sportfishing sounds much more exciting.

I will be doing PRA request and I will fight this because I know they’re moving at the direction for financial gain.not r protection of the people

You are absolutely correct. 21 arrests out of 804 cars screened amounts to only 2.6% success rate of this operation. In any other industry, programs with success/outcome rates like that would be immediately defunded and permanently scrapped. So why do the remaining 97.5% of the law abiding citizens continue to endure this type of unwarranted detention?
VXSGuy says
Because the 2.4% are the ones forcing this type action. If there is no check then the number would grow. There were 2 individuals that were driving without a interlock device and 18 driving illegally. if that 2.5% would follow the laws then a zero would add plausibility to scrapping the program. If just one person driving DUI is to many on the road. I lost to people the same night to DUI. The person whom was arrested for driving DUI and the Officer he hit when we were closing down a DUI checkpoint. Imagine my surprise when the CHP was able to track him down and arrest him and it’s a co-worker whom was gave a DUI briefing 18 hours earlier. So if everyone would just follow the law then we wouldn’t have to do DUI checks. The FEW is the problem. So the law abiding citizen has to endure.
TBundy says
Law enforcement could make even a bigger impact with the same checkpoint if they detained illegal aliens at the same time.
