The birds were seized after sheriff’s deputies, assisted by personnel from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – Los Angeles, served a search warrant in the 9800 block of East Avenue S in the Antelope Valley community, officials said.
SPCA-LA personnel secured several dogs on the property before deputies seized the 112 roosters, “many of whom were scarred and injured” and suspected of having been used in cockfighting, the agency reported.
Several people were detained but no arrests were immediately announced.

What made California great is the weather, a beautifully peaceful coast line with natural harbors scattered about, abundant resources and GOLD!
Natives loved the area, and had trade across the nation. Russians and Spanish loved the area and expanded into it. Other nationalities explored it and found it beautiful as well.
Now, please point out where in my original retort I said any fighting made California great. You can’t. As to lawless Mexicans, bet it never occurred to you that many coming north are coming here for laws, because they are escaping corruption. What free ride? I have had illegals as neighbors, they worked hard, partied little, raised their children and expected them to get good grades and to live the American Dream. I called Animal control to come pay a visit to my neighbor because for almost 4 months, he’s had 5 or 6 roosters tied to their leg in the middle of the back yard, their only shade from the hot sun…or cold nights is a damn plastic drum with a cut out, im sure when it gets hot, the temperature is probably worse inside….any way, after I called Animal control….they said they could do nothing as long as the animals have some form of shade, they are fine…the irony about this is that, the neighbors are brainwashed religious yahoos…talk about morals huh. one of these days Im going to anonymously call ICE to see if these morons like being tied up on in cages.
