ROSAMOND – Six people were arrested in Friday when Kern County Sheriff’s deputies raided four illegally operating marijuana dispensaries in Rosamond, authorities said.
Search warrants were served Friday, Aug. 17, at The Plug, located at 2947 Sierra Highway; The Green Empire, located at 1379 Sierra Highway; 5 Gramz Stop, located at 2949 Sierra Highway; and the Green Mile Collective, located at 2613 Diamond Street, according to a news release by Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner.
“The search warrants resulted in the seizure of 142 pounds of marijuana,13,725 grams of marijuana oils and concentrates, 812 packages of edibles, and $25,720 in US currency,” the news release states.
Officials said the seized marijuana has a street value of around $241,519; the oils and concentrates are valued at around $549,000; and the edibles are valued at around $16,240. A firearm also was seized at one of the shops.
Six adults were cited and released for the misdemeanor sections of HS 11359 and County Ordinance 19.08.055, according to the news release.
Arrested were:
- Kyle Amway, 27
- Summer Hodges, 23
- Mohamed Hussin Ahmed, 52
- Salah Saeed, 39
- Richard Ariel, 31
- Veronica Molnar, 22
“Rosamond has been invaded by these illegal pot shops in recent years and the County of Kern has, up until this time, been mired in the slow, frustrating civil court process… In addition to making arrests, this new approach resulted in the seizure of large amounts of drugs and cash. I am extremely pleased the Sheriff’s Department was able to conduct this operation… bringing swift and effective enforcement action against these illegal marijuana dispensaries, which will produce an immediate improvement in the quality of life in Rosamond,” Scrivner stated in the news release.

Isn’t marijuana legal in California?
If so, WTF ?!?
Cheech says
It wasn’t legal when Rex and Marv were dealing it, but it is now. We should parlay their experience as dealers and save the BLVD from its economic collapse and open up dispensaries that they run. They know the ins and outs. It won’t solve the panhandling problem, but everyone will be stoned and won’t care.
Laughing says
Using it in your home is legal.
Selling it out of a shop without proper permits is still illegal.
F...K AV says
Any sane judge will toss these chump charges right out of court. Land of the Free as long as you do what you’re told.
Imtay Otscay says
It does not matter if charges are dismissed, heck they wouldn’t do much jail time anyhow… if any. The fun begins when they want the money and pot returned. Think the cops have tons of shelf space to store hundreds of glass jars and containers full of pot? Wrong. It all got tossed in a Hefty bag, weighed and a sticker was placed on the bag(s) identifying the case number, then it was tossed in a shed with all the other garbage bags full of pot. So that’s what will be returned to them IF they are lucky.. a garbage bag full of mixed pot. They will still sell it though.. just rename it: Ultra Super Darth Vader Skunk Chronic… Heck I would buy some :)

Or O.G Kush.

Or back in the day; Red Hair Sensimilla, my personal favorite.
Cheech says
They should just open the dispensaries in Lancaster on the BLVD and let Rex and Marv operate them. It will be a different experience for them from back in the good old days, but they have experience and know the product well.
Alexis says
He admitted using cannabis in 2016 for pain relief of a cyst that was removed from his brain. That is what changed his mind about cultivating the product.
Cheech says
He used and sold cannabis among other things to make money after dropping out of high school. He has experience. The BLVD could use the business and he and Marv have the experience.
His willingness to cultivate the product has nothing to do with this pain relief. He sees another opportunity to make money.

If The Sheriffs department/ DEA wanted to catch even BIGGER fish, all they need to do is look at some of the churches in the area….i know of at least 2 that have some of their sheeple who work and set up some of the properties “owned” by the church…what irritates me even more is that these religious Aholes are the reason why there are no legal weed shops in the area because they don’t want that type of businesses up here…yet these spineless parasites see nothing with growing and selling it to shops in other parts of LA county….
Alexis says
The church of what’s happening now. Those religious atheists are always ruining things.
Michelle says
Religious atheists? Those are two completely opposite things! Like being a vegan that eats meat. You need to open the dictionary and look up what an atheist is, because you cannot be both those things.
Tim Scott says
Michelle, that’s a common usage term. The ordinary atheist doesn’t believe in gad, which is certainly a choice they are entitled to make. The ‘religious atheist’ is the obnoxious kind that are constantly seeking agreement with their righteous disbelief, aggressively proselytizing for their non-god. It acknowledges the distinction between being a believer or not, and being religious or not.
Alby says
Gad dammat!
Alexis says
@Michelle…Atheism is a religion according to the 1961 Torcasso v. Watkins case that was affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. The highest court in the land, where court rulings become national law.
Alexis says
Michelle, According to the 1961 Torcasso v. Watkins case that was affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court, the highest court in the land, where court rulings become national law, states that atheism is a religion.
Imtay Otscay says
LOL @ Tim Scott for saying: “The ordinary atheist doesn’t believe in gad” GAD? hehe. Ya edit would be nice here, so would delete, right Alexis? If I had a dollar for every time a post didn’t show up and I had to repost, and THEN the original post eventually shows up, I would have like, 16 bucks… still annoying though.
And now churches and religion are involved in this pot debate? I think JFK and Elvis are still alive and have conspired to destroy the pot industry because being stoned adds 75 points to your IQ and will allow us to figure things out. That’s the best I can come up with now, gimmi a few days and I will come up with something that involves UFOs and Weird Al.
Tim Scott says
Little Boston accent seems to have slipped through there! My bad.
Alexis says
Yep, it is annoying. I was addressing Chuy Nazareth’s comment. Kind of went off the rails a bit. Chuy seems to think so, with all the churches growing their own.
Alexis says
“Marijuana medical card? I don’t need no stinking marijuana medical card!”
Chuy Nazareth says
LMFAO @alexis and according to various studies, religion is a form of MENTAL ILLNESS/Disorder…and the AV seems to suffer from that mental illness a lot. in my area here in littlerock alone, there are about 10 or more churches in a square mile area alone…in the end, the only ones who benefits from religion, are the pastors/preachers/clergy…by selling these idiots an imaginary cure, for an imaginary illness.
Tim Scott says
And right on cue one of those religious atheists appears, chanting the praises to their non-god and insisting that all must acknowledge the superiority of their faith.
Thanks Chuy, it’s always easier to explain atheism as a fanatical faith based system with an example at hand.
Alexis says
Too funny, Tim.
Mike says
Really? Name them! Anyone can say anything here like it is true. The problem with the pot heads is that they don’t wait until they get home. They start lighting up right in the parking lot and drive home to Lancaster high as a kite. You want to do it the privacy of your home I have no problem with it. It is when you pull up next to me at the stop light and I can smell coming from your car is when it is wrong. I should not have to risk my life on the road because you have no self control.
justsayn says
I didn’t vote for the legalization of weed. Things should have been left as they were. What SHOULD have changed is the classification of weed from a sched 1 narcotic to a “no big deal” sched 4 or 5. As previously stated, most recreational smokers are going to continue to get their weed on the black market due to the prices at the “legal” dispensaries. The legalization of weed IS just like the legalization of alcohol – meant to benefit the states and local governments.
Imtay Otscay says
Why did anyone even bother to try and legalize pot? Cities and counties that don’t agree with voters can just make permits almost impossible to get, make the regulations difficult and too expensive to implement and arrest anyone who does not comply.
Tim Scott says
They could do that, but what they are doing is even worse. It’s like the glory days of liquor licensing revisited. They allow so few licenses that the licensed shops can’t even begin to keep up with the market, so having a license is pretty much like owning a money press. That makes getting a license one of the greatest perks that a political supporter could be rewarded with, and the kickbacks expected by those city and county officials are absolutely staggering.
How do you think a member of the Wrecks Parris cabal came to be granted the only exemption to Lancaster’s ban on commercial growing facilities? When it came time to funnel money into Wrecks’ puppet candidate for mayor of Palmdale how convenient was it that said commercial growing operation need a “consultant” retired fire department inspector to ‘check them out for safety”?
Alexis says
Imtay Otscay…Californians are buying plenty of cannabis, They’re just not buying from licensed shops, because of the very high (excuse the pun) taxes. It is all about the revenue, always. That’s why law enforcement cracks down on unlicensed shops; California is loosing major revenue in the pot game.
Imtay Otscay says
I don’t believe its that big of a conspiracy as the state has neither the time nor the authority to order each individual city and county to crack down on unlicensed pot shops. I believe its up to elected officials (sheriff, city council, mayor etc…) in each city and county to decide how to handle the issue. I also think many of them don’t want marijuana in their cities because they don’t want kids exposed to it and believe it raises the crime rate.
Just look at this quote from the article: “bringing swift and effective enforcement action against these illegal marijuana dispensaries, which will produce an immediate improvement in the quality of life in Rosamond” – LOL ya right- someone tried to sell me pot outside carl’s jr on 20th E and palmdale blvd yesterday – and my EX GF paid $25 bucks for a medical card online last week, it was emailed to her and she had pot delivered to her the same day, all without having to leave her house. (I didn’t know the medical card thing could be done online) so they will NOT stop anyone from getting pot. I could just hop on the metrolink and head into the valley if I really had to.
Alexis says
You’re probably right, but I see them cracking down on illegal shops a lot. I know there is a difference between medical marijuana, and recreational marijuana, so maybe that is why shops are closed down. Thank you for your input. You are right about not being able to stop anyone from getting pot, it has always been readily available. Now it is even easier than before.
