Man killed in Palmdale hit-and-run

PALMDALE – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in Palmdale, authorities said.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, on Sierra Highway just north of Avenue N, according to a news release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies learned that one vehicle was traveling southbound on Sierra Highway north of Avenue N when that vehicle made a sudden lane change and struck a male black adult walking along the west shoulder of Sierra Highway. The male adult was transported by L.A. Co. Fire Department to Antelope Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by hospital staff as a result of his injuries,” the news release states.

The vehicle involved fled the scene southbound on Sierra Highway immediately following the collision. Witnesses described the vehicle as an older dark sedan.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, it is probable that there is damage to the front right portion of the vehicle… Neither the driver nor the vehicle have been identified,” the news release states.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.

Sierra Highway was closed between Avenue N and Avenue M during the collision scene investigation, which concluded at about 5 a.m. Saturday, April 6.

  1. THIS IS WHY ALL ROADS SHOULD HAVE SIDEWALKS. So people aren’t forced to walk in the road. Drivers do need to be more careful though

  3. It strikes me that in almost all of these new articles when the article states that the victim was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital. They always die. They make it to the hospital but they always die when they get there. What is up with that? Do they not have doctors at that hospital?

    • I think it is a case of many patients die on the way there but the call for the patient actually being deceased has to come from a doctor after the patient is in EMT/Paramedics care from the scene. (I could be incorrect)

    • That’s wrong about Rex and its not his fault, period. You can bet he will chase the ambulance or take the claim. He is having a field day right here in the AV. Why change things?

      • Rex makes his money in all sorts of creative ways. Suing Monster energy drinks, suing American Legion Posts, and is newest gravy train, suing cities and school districts for voting districts that he won’t implement in his on city.

        Plus all his business deals and LLCs with Frank and the gang. But his bread and butter are these crazy lawsuits.

        • I found out there are 2 brother attorneys in Rex and Rob and they are both involved in the same crazy lawsuits. I’ve heard Rob is the sneaky one and Rex is the nut.

    2) Don’t expect anyone in the valley to EVER stop and accept responsibility for ANYTHING
