LANCASTER – A local elementary school principal pleaded not guilty Monday to driving drunk and killing a woman in a head-on crash in Palmdale last year.
Mary Noel Kruppe, 36, of Pearblossom is being held in lieu of $2 million bail on a murder charge stemming from the death of 29-year-old Lancaster resident Jessica Ordaz.
The fatal crash happened around 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, on 50th Street East north of Avenue P in Palmdale. Kruppe was behind the wheel of a 2014 Jeep Wrangler that was traveling southbound on 50th Street East when it veered left into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2010 Mazda driven by Ordaz, authorities said.
Ordaz was pronounced dead at the scene, and Kruppe, a principal at Enterprise Elementary School in Lancaster, was taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.
After pleading not guilty to murder, Kruppe was ordered to return to court on June 3, when a date is expected to be set for a preliminary hearing to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.
If convicted as charged, Kruppe could face up to 15 years to life in state prison, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Pre trial Conference
Let’s support the Ordaz family
Thrown Away says
Her family is paying for her stupid actions. Selfish of her. Forgot about everyone and everything…All her hard work thrown away :(
Chucco Mendoza says
Its a good thing you have never done anything wrong…or you would just be another self righteous dope.
Chucco Idiota says
Chucco Mendoza,
Many people haven’t done anything wrong. Especially going out and getting so drunk you end up killing someone because you stupid self decided to drive. Nope, I haven’t done that… And will never drive drunk. Have you?? Keeping making excuses for these type of stupid decisions and choices.
Chucco Mendoza says
Yes I have and so have probably 99% of adults IF they tell the truth. I am not saying drunk driving is OK I am saying let’s be honest and not disingenuous….no one is excusing what happened….let’s just stop all the self righteous BS
Support says
January 27, 2020
Trial begins.
The Ordaz family needs your support.
Let’s pray for the family.
Chucco Mendoza says
Why are you talking about praying? That would mean you are a Christian…yet you are full of hate…you demonstrate none of what Jesus would have you do. Ever hear that let he who is without sin cast the first stone? If you have EVER driven drunk..even once then you haFDve no room to talk. Nothing is bringing the woman back….and so regardless of what she ends up getting..nothing changes…fact the facts…you are full of hate the only one you hurt is YOURSELF. …….you are nothing more than a hypocrite.
Mary Mary says
Whoa “If you have ever driven drunk… even once then you have no room to talk. Nothing is bringing the woman back.” Chuck Mendoza you suck. You are hypocrite. I can say I’ve never driven drunk once and many more people can say the same thing but it sounds like you have making up excuses for this drunk killer. So Yes, let people pray for the Ordaz family and “Chucco Mendoza” I hope a drunk driver gets you. I’m not a Christian. I do feel sad for families who lost love ones to stupid people like this one here.
Ranchasso says
You hope he gets killed? What a fine example you are…..you have issues….lots of them…..the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree…so we will blame your parents….
Justine O says
Tragedy ending for the Ordaz family. But the most tragedy is the DUI driver has not plea guilty and accept her consequence. Yes, she is jail but has not received what deserves. Yes she feels bad but only because she got caught drinking and driving. And to my family and I, this woman deserve life. A lifetime won’t bring our love one back. We pray justice.
Just wondering says
None of us can even imagine your pain. You have my deepest condolences and prayers for strength.
What I don’t understand is why the DA has not pushed this case harder to bring some level of closure. The case is clear, but delay after delay is not helping anyone.
But please know this – Jessica was a gift and a blessing to all who knew her while she was here. I can only pray is is the blessing of her life that you remember and can take solace in.
Andrew F says
I know you support Sharia Law and don’t give a F about US law…we are a nation of LAWS…..I think we should look deep into your life and let’s see what we find. You should pray for yourself…to remove hate….Jesus does NOT approve of your hate speech…..what does it mean to love thy enemy? People in glass houses should not throw stones. You are both FAKE CHRISTIANS..full of hate..horrible examples of God’s love….
Just wondering says
Who are you referring to?
If me, you have no idea who I am or what I may believe. And be specific – what are you calling hate speech?
I think you’re on drugs
No crying says
Andrew F, you need help. Your comments are “hate” Don’t be so hurt about people’s comments unless of course their comments directly hurt you feelings. Get help and allow people to state their opinion, whether you agree with it or not, we don’t care about your hateful and “Christian” ways. Sounds like this drunk actions directly affected you.
Get help because it’s not over yet.
Angela says
Get some psychological help Andrew F.
David G says
Let me start by saying what happened here is a tragedy. All caused by irresponsible conduct. I do not excuse what happened. My comments however are for all the haters.
None of you are Christians obviously. No compassion. Did you know the defendant has 2 children ages 5 and 7….what about them? Should we just say F em? They now have no mother. Of course punishment is warranted. In Matt 7-5 says,”You hypocrites take the plank from your own eye so you may see the speck in your brothers eye” and what that means is that EACH and EVERY one of you is a phony…fake…have done things you are ashamed of. Probably most of you have at least once driven drunk. I am not excusing anyone…..a price will be paid. But to all you hating phony hypocrites….chill out. Take the edge off yourself…look in the mirror….be more loving.
Laughing says
Having a drunk for a parent is NOT the best option. My parent was a drunk and it was not fun, sometimes bordered on dangerous. It is better the children go with a responsible family member or even a good foster home (that is a whole other subject about the many crappy foster parents the system has).
If the drunk can not control itself then the drunk should be relegated to only using Uber/Lyft/Public transport after being released from jail for the death of a person from their own choices.
The compassion is that the drunk was not given the eye for an eye treatment of the old testament.
David G says
You sound like an idiot. We are talking about someone with no criminal record and someone very accomplished. I am in now way excusing what she did AND I think IF we take a LONG deep look into YOUR life we will find AMPLE examples where you broke the law…and have done idiotic things.
Who are you to call someone a drunk? You are just a dope making stuff up.
The good thing is absolutely no one cares about your opinions….
Guilty says
No David. You sound like an idiot. Criminal record or not. She killed a person. She drove drunk many times. And many time she forgot about her two kids. SHE did not care about her damn family. Stop. No excuses. Justice. She will remain in jail. So Christian of her, she continues with the ‘NOT GUILTY’
David G says
You are someone who spews accusations and innuendos. You have NO PROOF…just gossip. Hearsay. Hot Air. Wise up loser
Just wondering says
How do YOU know she drove drunk many times?
Laughing says
“Just wondering”, does it really matter?
Facts are: Driving while intoxicated is against the law and the particular law has a long history, it is not a new law. A person chose to drive while intoxicated. That same person caused a death by driving intoxicated. A trial happened. A punishment was decided upon by the court.
Just wondering says
To Laughing –
It matters because you made a statement as if it were fact you had personal knowledge of. You misrepresented – otherwise called lying.
Yes, there is a law against driving while intoxicated.
Kruppe broke that law and someone died as a result. Two families suffered – one of them irreparably. She deserves all the punishment she gets and more.
No, there has mot yet been a trial. And no punishment has been decided.
You – we all – would be better served staying quiet than opening your mouth and simply validating being a fool.
You are entitled to your opinion, but not to misstate facts.
Alexis says
Just wondering…Thank you.
Laughing says
“Just Wondering”, actually I did NOT make the statement “She drove drunk many times.”, that was Guilty.
Yeah I realized after typing my statement I had mixed two different cases in my head. Apologies for that gaff.
Still wondering though, does it really make a difference about how often she drove while intoxicated? One time in this case was one time too many. That is the point I was trying to make. It does not matter if she was habitual about it or not.
Just wondering says
Laughing –
Precisely my point. The fact is, she drove drunk and took a life. On that and that fact alone she should be judged.
There is way too much garbage on here by clueless people who don’t know better than to simply puke up trash. Comments about how much Kruppe drank, her affairs, how they hated her, what kind of wife and mother she was. No facts or evidence…just garbage.
Kruppe killed someone and will be judged and punished for that. No more, no less.
Personally says
I agree with you. David is taking this criminals consequences a little too personal. Fact. She was driving drunk. Fact. She killed someone driving drunk. Fact. She did go out drinking with friends pretty often forgetting about her family including her kids. Fact. Her rep is not a good one. But. Who cares about her rep, SHE DROVE DRUNK and killed s young lady. FACT. Not accepting guilt..
David G says
Sorry Bucko but many of your FACTS are not FACTS. If you were on Judge Judy you would know everything you have said is hearsay. Yes she did kill someone and no one is debating that. You have NO idea who she was drinking with UNLESS you were there. Were you? You are another nattering nabob….who spews opinions as if they were facts. It will all come out in the wash. And again to all the empty headed simple minded keyboard warriors here….I am NOT excusing ANYONE and prison is warranted. I am also saying IF we took a long hard look in the past of all you hateful jabroni’s we would find a lot of bad stuff….none of you are angels and none of you is showing any Christian compassion…you all seem like Muslims into Sharia Law….and eye for an eye BS….that is not how the law works in the US…I suggest you all move to Iraq
Stinger says
You make an interesting statement, ‘Personally,’ when you say, “David is taking this criminals consequences a little too personal.”
I would opine that we should ALL be looking at the punishment phase a bit more carefully, as WE, the citizens, must deal with the results of said actions… No matter your position regarding “justice” (a relative term, to be sure), two real families and at least two ‘work families’ have been devastated by this person’s stupid action. To further devastate the situation will have no benefit towards the justice for those remaining other than, possibly, to satisfy a few people’s base feelings of vengeance. WE, the living, will still have to deal with all of the eventual consequences to our community as a result of our imposed consequences upon the perpetrator of this act of tragic stupidity.
Let the punishment heal the crime… at least as much as possible.
To You says
She is a drunk a bad mother bad wife bad example and a wordless piece of human being. Don’t care about her accomplishments. Everything she did is nothing compare to the pain she’s caused many families including her own family. God can forgive her not us. I am a human being too who makes mistakes and cannot forgive this selfish woman. I pray she stays in jail for all the pain she caused, for feeling like she can do whatever she wanted without regards to families pain. She is getting what she deserves. She and the other persons she was hanging around with. Yes, they are getting what they deserved. I pray for peace in my heart and my families because we are hurt.
To Forgive says
The Ordaz family is in our prayers.
And no offense meant… but we are called to forgive those who have hurt us. That forgiveness is not for the offender…it is for us. It is so we can begin to heal. Otherwise that hate and resentment will eat away at us for the rest of our lives.
Natsly says
I totally agree with you. This irresponsible drunk criminal did not care for her own two kids, her husband, her family.. why would we care about her now. Her kids are better off without their drunk mother . Priors or not, Mary Kruppe killed someone driving drunk. She took the life of a precious young woman.. what about Jessica Ordaz life, her mother her father her brothers…?!?! I care about them. Mary Kruppe did not care about her children. She forgot about them driving and driving. And it was not the first time. Nothing to do with Christianity or God. JUSTICE!
Mary Mary says
I worked with her and I don’t hate her at all. I can not say she did not care for them but they were definitely not her priority. Mary Kruppe used to laugh and say her husband was a stay at home mom, so they did not lose their mom. I’m sure he is taking good care of them. I pray for those who do hate her to heal and find forgiveness.
No Care says
So true. Mary Kruppe made fun of the stay at home dad. To me, her kids a better taken care of by the stay at home dad. He is the one we should pray for and she should stay in jail. The father is the father and mother. The responsible one. Those kids don’t need a drunk mother. Their father can take care of them. She did not cared at all for those kids. So to those talking about we all have skeletons in the closet, we need to be Christians and forgive, please stop. She was not so Christian when she she took off drunk and killed someone so equally precious as her kids. She was not so Christian when she was making fun of her spouse. Nothing to do with hating her. We just don’t agree this irresponsible individual should get out and live her life. Jessica will never be able to return home.
David G says
I would like to delve deep into your life to see what kinds of despicable things you have done…things that you hide that you do not want others to know about….you are no better than Mary. Look in the mirror hypocrite
Tim Scott says
Guess what David…when people die in your immediate vicinity your life gets delved into, deeply. That’s just how it goes. If you don’t like it, find another planet, but either way would you just quit whining about it?
Alexis says
David…Please, just shut up. Do you know the story of Alice in Wonderland?
Jacky says
David,
So because you delved into my life and found something I cannot speak Mary Kruppe is a criminal who drove drunk and killed a person?! Hahahaha…
“People plan ahead of time to go drinking. They know they will have to go home after drinking. They know they will be drunk or buzz when going home. That’s is a decision made intentionally. So, intentionally they drank, drove drunk, and intentionally killed someone. driving. Let’s change the law so that STUPIDS can’t stop intentionally committing these crimes and taking the lives of others. Hard punishment for stupid irresponsible drivers. Like this one here. What a waste…”
David, you worry too much about this criminal. Your concern should be how to help change the law so that stupids like this one here can stop hurting families. You should look into the mirror because it sounds like “you” have too many skeletons in your closet. Feeling guilty about something?
I say we pray.. pray says
I am better the Mary Kruppe. I am not driving drunk risking my life and the life of others. I care about the well-being of others and I especially care about my family, my children, my husband, my mother and many others. I don’t hate her, I don’t know her but I can tell you that her decisions hurt a lot of people and scarred some for life. No, you do not have to delve into my life. I have nothing to hide. But it sounds like you are excusing her because of your own skeletons in your closet. No gossip and no innuendos and the proof is there. She killed someone driving drunk as she has done. The law will decide her faith not her haters as you call them, me, or even you. She alone brought all this on her, no one else is at fault but her. She and you for some reason will have to live with the results the rest of your lives.
I don’t practice your “religion” you talk so much about being a Christian. David, I will pray for your own demons to disappear. Most importantly I will pray for the families that Mary Kruppe scarred forever.
Let the healing process begin….
David Pig says
David, does it really matter who she was drinking with? Friends or alone lol I sincerely doubt she was drinking alone on 50th or anywhere around that area for that mater. She lived in Pearblossom now residing in jail forever but Is not important anyways, she drove drunk and killed a person. Guilty. Stop with your disgusting comments pig. You call yourself a Christian lol
David G says
It is sad you are trying to put a negative spin on things. I suspect she was joking AND you knew she was joking…..so why try to imply that she is a heartless person? You suck
No clowning says
David, you are one sad puppy LOL
Sore loser!! You call yourself a Christian. She was joking.. she was a clown.. and now she’s entertaining the other prisoners.
FlimFlamClown says
Thank you for tightening up my nuts with your mouth wrench Clown…much appreciated
Sad says
Yeah sure. Now rather than having a stay at home parent, the kids have a dad working dad and various caregivers. Add – they get to visit their mom in prison. You are so sympathetic.
And I know how much more sympathy you’ll show in answering this.
I truly feel for Jessica’s family. This is a tragedy all the way around.
That said, most of the people on this site are nothing nut internet vermin who feel emboldened because they can type.
I knew Mary. And yes she joked about having a stay at home husband…even in front of him. Her kids loved her and she her kids.
To David’s point – yes Mary screwed up badly, cost another her precious life and deserves justice. No more or less than the law dictates (which is why she is pleading not guilty to murder.) But whoever of us is without sin or has never made a bad decision, let him or her throw stones. Otherwise, you ought be quiet and feel sympathy for all involved.
As you judge, so you will be judged. As you forgive, so you will be forgiven.
David G says
You are exactly correct….life is paradoxical in many ways. An example is there are MANY self described Christians that post on this page yet they are more in tune with ISIS and radical Muslims….seething with hate…demanding an eye for an eye….yet if all those haters told the truth we would find that 99% of them has driven a car drunk. That makes them hypocrites. What happens to Mary is what happens to Mary…all these haters will spend their lives hating…conveniently overlooking their own shortcomings.
The LW says
Lucky Drunk Mary Kruppe gets to see her kids. Lucky Mary Kruppe gets to see the stay at home dad. Lucky Mary Kruppe still has her life after she drove drunk and killed a person. She KILLED a wonderful human being.
We don’t get to see this wonderful human being. Mary Kruppe is a disgusting human being who should have die in the accident SHE caused for choosing to drink and drive. The law will take care of this.
CoonYasso Mendoza says
You angry empty headed simple minded hater….the only one who pays the price for your hate is you….
David G says
Have you ever driven drunk? Even once? Then shut your blow hole up….you are no better than anyone else..except you are a hypocrite
Angela says
David G, even if people have driven drunk they have not taken the life of someone else, please try to understand that. I had an incident when I drank too much and my friends took my keys away and took me home. I am very glad they did that. It seems like Mary hurt you more than she has hurt anyone else. Get some help seriously.
Very Sad says
Yes the law will and should take care of it. Not all the haters on this site.
By the way, SAD was referring to the kids who have been hurt in this, not Mary.
No hating says
I don’t think people hate her. I think she is trash and needs to stay with rest of the trashy criminals. She is guilty. Her family was not a priority. Her husband was not a priority. Why should we care for her at all? Her family will be fine and those two kids will grow up with a father who loves them very much I’m sure. They dont need a mother whose priority was to go out drinking and driving and who did not care about the lives of others.
Andrew F says
You were born trash
DUI Next says
Andres F, But she still a drunk trash. You can insult everyone here but she, she is still a drunk driver who took the life of a human being. A careless person who did not care for life at all. A piece of trash who forgot about her own family. we hope the law takes care of her. We need all drunk drivers to receive severe punishments. The law needs to stop being so lenient NOW. The next DUI victim could be your love one.
Ignorance is bliss says
That is such a stupid remark…people don’t hate her, she’s trash.
Someone else said that people who have driven drunk but been fortunate enough not to kill are better than Kruppe. Stupid.
Many have said Mary chose to drive drunk. While true…doesn’t anybody realize that when you are drunk your judgement is impaired. Speeders and reckless drivers kill people too – and choose to speed and drive recklessly, when they’re sober. Do you speed? Oh wait I forgot…you’re one of the safe law breakers.
Mary cared about her kids…but alcoholism changes people. If you don’t understand that then you are ignorant.
Stop says
Mary chose to leave her kids and family that night to go out drinking. She knew she had to go home but continue drinking until 6pm on a Thursday. Yes, SHE CHOSE to drink. Guilty. Stop excusing her choices, ‘alcoholism’ Nope she’s not an alcoholic she just is a stupid person that chose to drink and drive. She will pay for her mistake the rest of her life. Just as the victim family will have to live with this forever. And all thanks to drunk Mary Kruppe. Her judgement was not impaired before she began swallowing that alcohol. She knew what was she was doing and what her behavior could cause. Guilty.
Andrew F says
She is trash and you are scum…..
Ignorance is bliss says
What an amazingly intelligent, insightful and profound comment. An excellent reflection of your true self.
Who is sidekick of the lady says
Hahaha you sound like one of her little side buddys. she should have thought about her kids before she was drinking and it’s probably not the first time..
Hope she gets 10 to 20 years
Mary Mary says
I too hope she gets 20. She’s worthless. Selfish. Did not think about her family and those around her.
She hurt many.
Pathetic says
To David,
Hahahahahaha! You are so profoundly stupid. Take your sorry excuses elsewhere. GUILTY drunk, pathetic person in jail.
William says
This is partly why Christianity is declining in this country.
David G. said this>
“But to all you hating phony hypocrites….chill out. Take the edge off yourself…look in the mirror….be more loving.”
Be more loving??? You first, David G.
You and Christians like you are destroying the brand. Keep it up, though. The country could do much better without your tax exemptions. And, you don’t practice what you preach anyway.
No leniency says
This drunk driver must stay in jail. Let her be the example for all drunks drivers. We keep losing our love ones to DUI. No leniency.

Made a Motion to dismiss Watson Murder Charge??!!? Are you serious.. that drunk driver deserves a long sentence.
Timothy B says
Do you understand what the Watson Murder charge actually is and the legal requirements for it? Typically, it requires a prior dui, which is not present in this case.
What I heard is the judge told the DA their Watson case is weak and the attornies need to discuss a reduced charge.
Watson Charge says
“California prosecutors only charged a Watson murder if the driver already had at least one DUI. That is because when a person is convicted of a DUI, they are required to acknowledge a “Watson” admonishment. This admonishment advises the defendant of the potential fatal consequences of driving under the influence and warns the defendant if he or she kills a person while driving under the influence, the prosecutor may charge the driver with 2nd degree murder”.
Why would there be a Watson Murder Charge if she doesn’t have prior DUIs?
Alexis says
Exactly.
Truth and Justice says
There was no previous charge. We all sign a Watson statement when we renew our license. That is the reason they put a Watson Murder charge.
Murder charge says
Well there you go. She signed and she knew she could be charge with murder and yet this “smart” person drove drunk that ended killing someone.. hmmm. Yes, murder charge.
Channel Smith says
I don’t get the Watson report. If Kruppe doesn’t have DUIs then why the Watson Murder. She must have priors. Regardless, Kruppe committed a crime, she killed an innocent person and a family is in pain.
“In California, a DUI murder charge can typically only occur when the suspect has a previous DUI. Not only this, but they must have been admonished by a judge that if they get another DUI and someone is killed, they can be charged with murder. They can also sign what is known as a Watson agreement, acknowledging that they are aware of a potential murder charge. It can also be charged if they attended DUI school. However, prosecutors in California are beginning to charge DUI murder even if these conditions have not been met, particularly in egregious cases.”
Timothy B says
No priors.
I understand the desires of the family wanting as long a sentence as possible. But the current law must still be followed. Doesn’t make the current law right.
Stay in Jail says
Watson or not that crazy drunk is guilty. She’s driven drunk before many times, her friend who threw under the bus said so lol she needs to remain in jail for years to come.
Timothy B says
This is for Stay in Jail.
So ignore the actual law and keep her in jail for life because we never did like her anyway.
That sounds about right.
Look, I believe if you drive drunk and take a life the punishment should be severe. But I also believe in the rule of law, which you seem to not believe in.
Timothy B says
By the way, the “friends” who knew she drove drunk before…
What responsibility do they carry for Jessica’s death? Shouldn’t they have stopped Kruppe? Show about calling the police and reporting that a drunk driver was leaving wherever they were?
backbiter says
Stay in Jail…I heard from a friend that you drive drunk a lot, so I guess that means it’s true.
John Ortiz says
Who cares about the Watson. With or without, mary Kruppe should be charge for murder. She drove drunk. Read her statements. Unbelievable!
She and all drunk drivers should be charge for murder. Let’s change the laws.
Mike says
What exactly did her statements say?
Justice4Jessica says
Yes!!! A good day for the Ordaz family today. Justice will be served and Jessica will Rest In Peace.
Kruppe is guilty and the People know it. Dismissed the case.. the nerve
No Uber ??! says
Her own friends threw her under the bus. Funny how she said she doesn’t want to pay for Uber cuz it would be like $30 LOL so she rather drink and drive.. idiot. Deal with the consequences.
Timothy B says
Why didnt they call the police? Are they accomplices in the death?
Regardless says says
And the excuses continue for this drunk driver. No accomplices. Kruppe drank, Kruppe drove, Kruppe killed the young woman with her Jeep. No one to blame but Kruppe. Murder charge is correct but the law will decide regardless of her rep at work or her personal life. People don’t like her because of her rep but that won’t decide her faith. All we know is that she alone murdered an innocent woman and forever ruined a family. Kruppes life should also be ruined for ever because Jessica is never coming back.
Really? says
On what basis is the murder charge correct, other than you personally believe a drunk driver deserves a murder charge?
Timothy B says
The attorney did his job with a request to dismiss the murder charge when no priors existed.
Adamary says
Finally. She will be Charge for Murder.
I am sorry to the family this is taking so long but soon enough the law will punish this drunk driver and you will get the peace you deserve. It won’t bring your love one but will be at ease knowing this careless person is behind bars.
Cheyenne Lara says
Another disgusting drunk driver in the AV. How many more have to die , anywhere, due to careless people choosing to drive drunk??

Let’s hope this drunk driver remains in jail for a long time. We’ll know soon enough.

Marianne says
Every night they are out there, somewhere, prowling the nations roadways, out of control and pushing more than a ton of steel. Many never get caught so they do it again — and again and again. Until one day, they ruin lives. They are drunk drivers. And as bad as it is to drive drunk, and as dangerous as drunk drivers are to all of us on the roads, this is about the worst kind of drunk driver: the repeat offender.
There are millions of them out there putting you in danger every time you drive down the street.
Arrests, fines, convictions—nothing seems enough to stop these serial drunk drivers. I know of one man from Iowa who’s had 11 DUI convictions. Another, in New Mexico, has had 14. One man says many of these drunk drivers are not just a nuisance or a tragic annoyance with a weakness for alcohol. He has one word to describe a repeat drunk driver who slammed into his world: murderer.
“In the United States, roughly 28 people die every day in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. Each year, nearly 10,000 Americans were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes. Alcohol-related accidents accounted for nearly one-third of all traffic-related deaths.”
Mary Kruppe is a repeat drunk driver. She is driven drunk many times; she just never got caught until that horrible night, Nov. 15th. She should stay in prison. How much time should she receive? “No two cases are the same!” The law will soon let us know.
Jason P says
Actually you are spot on. I agree. I think the law must change and also apply to marijuana as well.
But that includes increased penalties for dui. You drive drunk or high, jail time.
You are right Marianne, a vehicle is a weapon.
One question – how do you know she has driven drunk? No, she had never had a violation for it.
Kruppe will do/should do significant time.
My only argument on here has been that any relationships she may or may not have had, her job performance and what people think of her personally (prior to this incident) have nothing to do with what punishment she receives.

I agree. Let us not stop there though. California is second from Texas with the highest amount of fatalities from distracted driving, such as cell phones. Pushing more than a ton of steel are self-centered people texting, talking, and playing games on their cell phones while driving. How about a GPS system installed in cars that automatically sends a message to the closest police station when a cell phone is in use. The phone is fried, and that eliminates the problem. Considering the alternative is killing someone. This could also work for people that drinks and drives. The car detects alcohol, sending a message to the closest police station.
Linda says
Edit; drink and drive.
Timothy Ray says
I agree with your comments. But what do you say about reckless drivers who cause loss of life? Those driving 10-15 mph faster than the flow of traffic, zagging in and out and cutting people off?
By your argument wouldn’t they deserve the same treatment?
Alcohol impairs your judgement, therefore when you decide to drive your judgement is not normal. But a reckless driver does so intentionally.
O’neal Jackson says
People plan ahead of time to go drinking. They know they will have to go home after drinking. They know they will be drunk or buzz when going home. That’s is a decision made intentionally. So, intentionally they drank, drove drunk, and intentionally killed someone. Same as those driving recklessly, passing dangerously other drivers, texting while driving. It is against the law to drive under those conditions. Let’s change the law so that stupids can’t stop intentionally committing these crimes and taking the lives of others. Hard punishment for stupid irresponsible drivers. Like this one here. What a waste…..

They can’t/won’t answer Tim. All they are capable of is spewing hate and name-calling. There can be no serious discussion.
Krupped deserves to serve prison time. But more or less than this guy?
https://www.presstelegram.com/2019/04/18/lakewood-man-faces-5-felony-charges-for-dui-crash-in-long-beach-that-killed-man-in-wheelchair/amp/
The laws are too lenient as they are, but we need to treat all offenders equally.
No more tragedies says
We cannot treat all offenders equally as no two cases are the same… ever. Kruppe has no convictions. Never been caught drinking and driving. But, she had been drinking and driving prior to Nov 15. This time she was not so lucky. Less fortunate is the Ordaz family. Kruppe forever ruined and changed their lives with her careless behavior. No, we should care about the relationships she may or may not had. But unfortunately the way she behaved and the thing she said or did does contribute to how people react and feel about her current situation. People hate her for many reasons. They only know those reasons. You don’t and I don’t. Can their hatred contribute to her sentence, most likely not. Things will come out when time is right. And if there’s anything, nothing stays hidden forever. We just have to wait and see, and accept whatever comes out of this tragedy.
Nayeli Jackson says
Just another drunk driver looser. Disgrace and embarrassment to all who knew her.
I am very sad for the victim and the family. DUI death should be first degree murder. It’s premeditated, you plan to drink knowing you have to drive back home.
As a mother I feel the pain Jessica’s mother is feeling. My condolences to this family and may justice be served.
Tim Scott says
So would that make DUI attempted murder? Would that make serving drinks conspiracy to commit murder?
I’m always surprised at the lack of answers people have for this, and maybe you will surprise me by having an answer for me:
When I was in the navy I drove home drunk a couple times. When I was a teenager I drove home drunk a couple times. Just about everyone I know has driven home buzzed, at the very least, at least once or twice. I know there is an arrogance at play, that says “I’m so good at driving that even drunk I made it home,” and that arrogance is pretty common. I know a lot of people believe it, but when you put that aside it is pretty obvious that the vast majority of drunk drivers are lucky enough, and a few aren’t.
So here’s the question: If we are going to punish the unlucky ones as “murderers,” what do we do with the rest? Given that “the rest” means a huge fraction of the population, this becomes a very tough question. The average person can say “give murderers the death penalty” without having to consider that they are themselves a murderer, or that they have multiple friends and family members who have murdered in the past and may well do so again after the next family barbecue.
But in all probability you have a personal friend or family member who will commit DUI and get away with it this week. Do you plan to treat them as if they have gotten away with murder?
15 years plus says
June 3. She will be told 15 years. She will remain in prison.
Jason P says
Please get your facts straight.
She will remain in prison, however June 3 is only a preliminary hearing. She will be sentenced only if she pleads guilty to the current charge.
You Cowards says
She is guilty.
https://www.facebook.com/2147500045363612/posts/2189600701153546?s=100010618143853&sfns=mo
RIP
Jason P says
Well our legal system says innocent until proven guilty and that people have a right to a trial. To be sentenced she must either go to trial or plead guilty. Neither of those is likely to happen on Jun 3. But you already know that, you simply choose to troll.
Josephine says
Jason P, I see its your favorite word. Troll.
Another stupid school principal. What is going on.. ?? Anyways, drinking and driving and killed someone veering to their lane.. Whether she pleads guilty or not this dumb bit—h is guilty.
Good luck.
Jason P says
Josephine,
It is so easy to spew venom and hate when you are anonymous. So easy to throw out rumors and label them facts, along with accusations and implications because you didnt like someone.
The only word I know for that is an internet troll.
Mary Kruppe absolutely drove intoxicated and killed someone. Horrible for the Ordaz family. And terrible for Mary’s husband and young children. I witnessed Mary being a good wife and mother. But she did it and she will pay the price according to the law, and she should.
I happen to believe the law is too lenient on anyone who takes a life through gross negligence of any kind. But applied to all, not just one person.
People on here didnt like Mary so want to see her suffer. They talk about the rumors that abound but not one has any specific evidence. Trolls
Jason P says
And yes, RIP. My heart truly goes out to the family of Jessica. Of all who post here, yours is the most justified.
Patricia says
Jason P,
And I quote, “It is so easy to spew venom and hate when you are anonymous. So easy to throw out rumors and label them facts, along with accusations and implications because you didnt like someone.”
Her drinking and driving and killing someone aren’t rumors. That’s why she is in prison right? Because she herself drank and drove and she was so wasted that she ended up veering into the opposite lane resulting in the killing of an innocent young woman. No rumors there, facts. No sure what your referring as “rumors”.”
And yes Mary Kruppe is hated by a lot people. Why is that? Is everyone wrong about her? Why do they hate her so much? You only knew her in one environment, her husband and kids.
I think you’re the troll that keeps focusing in these alleged rumors. You need stop troll. We are focusing on her behavior pattern with alcohol and driving. Because there is a pattern….
Jason P says
Patricia, perhaps you should read. Many on here talk of the rumors of an affair. Most talk about hating her – not for the crime bit before that. Those are the trolls.
Oh yeah, and you.
Antoinette says
Let’s hope she pleads guilty. The Ordaz family needs it. Time for them to heal.
Kruppe, you had the balls to drink and drive. Now have the courage and strength to give this family what they need. Your family says your praying and you found a new way to help people in prison. How about helping the Ordaz family first. Courage.
Happy Gappy says
Yes I’m happy!!!!!!
I hope for the best June 3.
Never Let Go says
No Excuses for her from me. A Sad Sad Situation for the family and friends of that lost loved one. I guess I would feel anger and despair. May God Bless Everyone of You that knew her with the Strength of His Power!!!
Jason P says
Amen to that
Amber Robles says
Jason P,
And you do know her?? She had this coming. She has a long list of crappy decisions. Decisions and tragedies that affected many families. I do know her.
Jason P says
Yes I know her, but that is irrelevant.
So because she made decisions you didnt like or agree with, she had what coming exactly?
That question doesn’t require an answer. I’m afraid you are simply blinded by your hate. Kruppe has her due punishment coming for her crime, no more and no less. Her punishment should be similar to that of others who have killed someone while driving under the influence.
But I guess others on here have never gotten behind the wheel when you shouldn’t have. I know i have. Ever smoked a joint and driven? I’m betting yes. We are so quick to point the finger of blame at others when we have done the same thing and gotten away with it.
Amber Robles says
Jason P,
She made decisions that ruined my family yes, I HATE this woman with all my heart. I wish she die the same way Jessica die. I hope she stays in jail a long time.
Never smoked a joint and driven. Never drank and driven. Never forgotten my children to go drinking with another. I care about about the well-being of others.
I am no pointing the finger. I’m living what this careless woman did everyday the rest of my life. I’m not blinded. I see clear what she’s done to me and my family.
I hate this woman. In jail, she will remember the rest of her miserable life what she did to my family.
You people can't face it when one of your own does something says
That’s why JP is sticking up for her because it’s his friend you people are b*******
What if it was going to JP’s relatives he would be complaining also so he just a two-faced idiot
Jason P says
Actually, I have stated quite clearly she deserves whatever is coming. But for people to wish further punishment than for this crime because she was rumored to be having an affair is simply wrong.
By the way, she was not a friend. I simply know her. You make assumptions
Pervert Jason P says
Jason P, you are the troll you pervert. You told Patricia here to read through the comments and find people accusing her of an affair. I look through and yes there are a few comments accusing her of an affair and was caught on the hill drinking alcohol and then driving home drunk. Exactly what happened that nigh Nov 15. There are pictures Oh there. BUT, I see that YOU continue to bring her alleged affair every comment you write and you sure have a lot of time to write about her affair. You are the troll who continues to focus on this woman’s sex life/alleged affair. You pervert troll. Stop. You think you are helping your Mary, you’re not because every time you comment you bring back her mistakes. Whether she had an affair or not WHO CARES. She killed a young
woman drinking and driving. We know that much. Her co workers who would go drinking with her and then drive home know this. She had a pattern of this behavior, drinking and driving. Who knows if she had pattern of affairs but those pictures and her coworkers and especially YOU don’t help her much by “trolling” about an alleged affair.
Yes, a lot people hate her. Why? Because she was a wonderful woman?!! Not. I hate her because she killed a very special young woman. We hope she gets the maximum and stays in prison to rot. I personally don’t care about her alleged affair and YOU need stop talking about her affair and focus on your own behavior pervert. Mary Kruppe just a drunk trailer trash.
Jason P, stop trolling you pervert.
Alexis says
Amber…You must be heavily weighted down with that halo hovering over you. I know too many teachers that drink and drive, also drive while heavily medicated from prescription drugs, etc. These teacher haven’t killed anyone yet, but their (crappy) decisions are made almost on a daily basis. If one of these many teachers, or any one else, kills someone, they also will receive due punishment. I know I have made decisions in the past to drink and drive, and I also have smoked a joint in the past and driven. Anything else Mary Kruppe has done that does not involve this case is irrelevant.
Jackelyn says
Alexis,
Lets celebrate you, drunk drivers, stoners, and anybody driving under the influence of anything illegal. Including texting or prescriptions drugs for that matter. Because you do it, teachers do it, some do it, or all do it….IT DOESNT MAKE IT OKAY. Whether they kill or not while under the influence… its no okay :( Sooner or later you will be caught and when this happens it will be too late for the one you kill and the families involved. Let her stay in jail. Make an example of her decisions.
Good luck to you, Alexis. Don’t make excuses when you get arrested or you hurt someone.
Alexis says
Jackelyn…In my comment I said I have, (in the past), had a drink and driven. I don’t drink, take meds, smoke marijuana, or take over the counter meds, and haven’t for a very long time. I won’t have to make excuses, because I am a licensed driver that hasn’t even had a ticket in 15 years. Maybe the laws should be changed so no drinking is allowed .00, instead of .08.
Change It... says
I agree with you. The law should change to .00 and not .08. Just like the law should change if you commit a crime and someone dies, you stay in prison. This drunk woman killed a young woman. She committed a crime. She will stay in prison. Regardless of her personal life, don’t natter, she had been driving under the influence of alcohol for some time. People who are close to her can attest to that. You are absolutely right, the laws need to change. Let’s begin with this case…
Jason P says
Couldn’t agree more.
Jason P says
If people close to her knew she was driving drunk then they are partly to blame, if not legally then certainly morally.
Anahi M says
Yes, morally they are to be blame. I hope her boozers group learns from her major mistake SMH
She lost the most important thing in life. Her freedom to choose.
Madison Petersen says
Dang JP, let this criminal take responsibility.. this so called Jesus follower. She claimed to followed Jesus.. two faced criminal. Liar. Drunk. Sinner. Cheater. Forgot her kids to go drinking with “someone”. Just trash. Let’s blame others for her actions… psst!
Jason P says
Madison,
I have asked on here for one shred of actual evidence she was cheating. Nothing. Nothing but rumors and accusations.
Give it a rest.
This is about her driving drunk and taking a life. That’s what she needs to pay for. All the other hate and name-calling is just petty bs.
Jason P says
I can’t believe the ignorant trolls on this site. The only legitimate comments are from the Ordaz family for whom I feel deep sympathy.
Kruppe pleaded not guilty to murder. Had the charge been vehicular manslaughter perhaps the plea would have been different. Learn the legal system before you make ignorant comments.
The supposed affair remains rumor only, probably started by the same trolls commenting on here with so.much hate and vitriol.
If you believe Kruppe should get life, then you must hold that position for anyone who drives drunk and kills another. Perhaps so…but the same must also apply to all those who kill another through negligence. For example, Kate Steinle’s killer.
Kruppe deserves prison, which is where she is now and will remain. And we all hope this will end quickly so the Ordaz family can move on. Blame the DA office for the delays.
Alexis says
Jason P…Thank you.
Tim Scott says
From the article: “After pleading not guilty to murder, Kruppe was ordered to return to court on June 3, when a date is expected to be set for a preliminary hearing to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.”
NO ONE should plead guilty TO ANYTHING prior to the preliminary hearing, and no lawyer would let them. The media has to report, because it is what they do, but at this hearing the only thing that could have happened that would have been newsworthy would have been a guilty plea…to anything. If someone pleads guilty at this stage the judge would stop them, because they would automatically be able to appeal on grounds of having ineffective counsel.
This “story” should have been “another step completed in the judicial process in the very usual way, nothing to see here.”
Alexis says
Thank you, Tim.
Joanna Gutierrez says
Mistake after mistake. Bad choice after bad choice. She has not learned her lesson and she will continue to hurt people and it could be your family she hurts next. She needs to stay in jail. Its time she suffers the consequences of her own decisions. In jail, she will have time to think about those she hurt and maybe she will stop making excuses for her sorry life. People said she was religious, its time she repents and asks the Ordaz family for forgiveness, accepts guilt.
Coward Kruppe says
Always a coward. She never owned up to anything.
Jason P says
For instance?
For Instance says
For instance drinking and driving and killing a young woman and pleading not guilty. How about that..
Jason P says
She does “own up” to that. She didn’t plead guilty to murder – a legal definition.
You said she “never owned up to anything” implying much more. Of course you can’t name anything else because you’re simply trolling.
Jessica R says
It takes a cowardly bastard to blame everything on someone else, to lie, to cover the truth, and to be deceitful. Kruppe, be brave and take responsibility for your crazy ass self!! Own your bad choices and give closure to the Ordaz family. Kruppes family, you have children, put yourselves in the Ordaz’ situation. Stop being selfish. You would want exactly what the Ordaz needs. Advise crazy Kruppe to be honest and to accept guilt.
The Ordaz family won’t stop until she does and she goes to prison for murder.
RIP beautiful Jessica
Simon says
Mary, you have taken the life of a young woman with a bright future ahead of her. You have taken from her family all the hopes and dreams they had for her. They will not get to see Jessica be married. They will not get to see their grandchildren being born. They won’t have the birthday parties, Christmas dinners, soccer games, awards ceremonies at school and all the other wonderful life moments our children and grandchildren give us. You caused this and you need to be held accountable.
There is nothing you can do to bring Jessica back. That said, there is something you can do to help.
Don’t drag a grieving family through a long drawn-out process. They did nothing wrong and don’t deserve the anguish you are currently heaping upon them. It’s wrong and many of us wonder how much more pain you want to cause them. From where most of us sit, it looks like you don’t care. You’re simply trying to get the best deal possible for yourself, not them. If the family gets hurt even more in the process, oh well.
You can change this.
Attorneys gets paid by the hour. Think long and hard about this. Most likely, the longer you drag this out, the more you’ll pay the attorney. Attorneys aren’t paid to do what’s right and moral. They are paid to get you the most favorable deal. It’s up to you to decide what is right and moral.
Attorneys aren’t always right. Just because you have been advised to drag the family through a living hell, does not mean it’s the right thing to do. Deep down you may know this. I hope so.
Out of respect for the family I would suggest you immediately accept responsibility for what you have done. Tell the family you have hurt them in a way unimaginable to most of us. There is nothing you can do to bring Jessica back, but you want to honor her memory by bringing this horrific saga to an end. You’ll admit your guilt and you will accept your punishment.
Only then will you be able to have true inner peace. Yes, there will be prison time. This is coming anyway. It will be a significant amount of time, but eventually it will end. If you have been honest, and respectful of the family, you will certainly have more more peace and, therefore, a higher quality life in the future. If you accept responsibility for your actions there may be people out there who would come to your side and support you. After all, you are responsible for how this matter plays out.
If, on the other hand, you choose to accept advice from those who don’t care how the family feels, you’ll have a whole community of people whose anger towards you will continue to be substantial and prolonged.
It’s your choice. Do what’s right for the family in mourning or do whatever it takes to try and get yourself the best deal possible at their expense. When all is said and done, the attorney will get paid and move on to the next case. You will be the one who has to live with your choices.
Now is your chance.
Justice For All says
I heard this statement from Jessica’s family. Mary Kruppe will stay in jail.
“As Many Of You Already Know Today April 22, 2019 We Had Another Arraignment In Court For Jessica. 5 Months and 1 Week Since I Last Saw My Beautiful Sister. It Took 5 Months and One Week For This Lady To Put In Her Plea. She Had The Nerve To Plea NOT GUILTY!!!! I Have So Much To Say To Her So Much To Say To Her Family. But I Won’t! One Thing I Will Say? Put My Sister In Front Of Me! Let Me Talk To My Sister! Let Me Hug My Sister! Give Us My Sister Back! Thats How I’ll Believe The Not Guilty Plea!!!! Help Get Jessica’s Story Heard. Please Help Us Get Her justice!!!”
Courage to the Ordaz family.
David says
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone and also Matt 5:7 You hypocrites take the plank out of your eye so you may see the speck more clearly in your brothers eye. That means all you self righteous dorks need to temper down your prattle. This is a sad case…I say give her probation and let’s move on
Disgusting says
Probation… Hahahaha.
Life. She will get life. Learn about Kruppes disgusting life story.
Jason P says
You know nothing about her life story.
Amanda Jones says
Jason P,
You are just a two face loser yourself. Stop defending this drunk killer. Why she did it? Who knows… The point is she was drunk out of her freaking mind and killed someone. Maybe if we stop making excuses for drunk drivers and send them to prison hard core time maybe we can have less DUIs and people getting hurt. You must know a lot about her life huh. Did you know she was drinking and driving? Did you know she had a pattern of drinking and driving? No. You think you know someone. You think you know her. Face it and accept it Jason P, she is a drunk killer. Whatever else she did with her personal life, we don’t care. We want justice. Prison. Not five six or ten years. Jessica is never coming back. Kruppe should never be back out. But the law is a broken law. We will see……
Tina says
Don’t justify this b**** SHE SHOULD ROT IN JAIL. She was selfish and killed in innocent person that had nothing to do with her choice of being drunk and driving . Now she’s a coward and has some f n nerves to say not guilty b**** man up you know dam well you guilty.
Tom says
What if it was your daughter killed David I bet your thinking would change. Your interpretation of the bible is wrong Jesus may have died for our sins, but punishments on earth is still accepted by God. Its the after life where all sins are forgiven.
Own Smith says
Well said Tom.
“You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequences of your choices”
Own your choices and consequences.
People are dumb says
^^^^^ THIS!!!! ^^^^
This website needs to incorporate a “like” button. If it did, I would be mashing the hell out of it for this comment. Awesome to see that there are still people out there that get it!
And David, you have pretty big balls to stand there and tell this family to “just move on” how dare you minimize their pain or the value of this woman’s life. Now I’m not saying that Kruppe set out that day to take a life, but she damn well new that her actions that day could have resulted in it. She just plainly did got give a s**t. Well it’s about time that she started!
Lae says
probation for driving drunk, veering into oncoming traffic, and killing someone in the process? are you HIGH?
Jackelyn says
She was on probation for driving drunk and kept on drinking and driving??!!!
I see why the 2 million bail… probably had previous DUIs. WOW :(
Jason P says
She was not on probation
Amanda says
Not on probation but yes previous DUIs
She’s going down. See you June 2.
Emily says
Your obtuse post leaves me speechless. You’re asking the Ordaz family to ‘get over it’. While NONE of us, in society, are sinless, when we are in discord with the law, there are fines to pay, etc. and we do. Making an illegal left turn is NOT the same as getting into a car while intoxicated and proceeding to recklessly kill someone. Examine your own conscious and ask YOURSELF why you would leave such a hienous comment.
Emily says
The above reply is to “David”.
David The Hypocrite says
Shut up David. Wait until your family members life is taken away. You, hypocrite! Time will remind you of your unkind words. Give it time…
TheBest says
Kruppe was a bitch at work and never owned her problems. She should have plead guilty and faced the music, this all stemmed from her drowning her sorrows away after she got caught having an affair (she’s married) with another principal Pinto. They got in a car accident together and got caught. Then that scandal was exposed. Her life is spinning down the drain, which is sad. But she made a bad choice and needs to own her actions.
Kiki says
This HOOD RAT had a long trail of b.s.. but everything eventually comes to an end Google her and find out how nasty she is together with that pinto guy (HER LOVER). Disgusting human waste.
No Shame says
Pleaded not guilty?!!! Who was driving kruppes car…psst….
Intoxicated says
A long residency at the CDCR…
Pay the price says
Give her life, even though in California its usually 20 years unless it states without the possibility of parole. Why should this unresponsible person get a second chance when the poor women killed will never.
Emily says
Would we all have the gift of restraint and discernment, our lives might be so lacking in these tragedies. However, God grants free will and with it, the pain that accompanies a soul who does not respect it.
Kathy says
All the teachers I know that drink and drive that haven’t killed any one yet; please stop!
You Know Who says
Yes, all the teachers and other employees we know from that district, stop. You will be next if you don’t stop drinking and driving.
Guzma says
I read this sad comment and it breaks my heart…
I hope she realizes that her actions of drinking and driving had the consequence of taking someone’s life… the victim did not veer into on coming traffic it was this so called “principal “
To the family that I see at the memorial site days on end I am very sorry for your loss… words can never be enough to mend a broken heart of such tragedy. To the young man I see there most days kneeling at the site please keep your head up because even though justice will be served it will never take that pain away, we just learn to live with it… God Bless the family ❤️
No Shame says
I feel bad for the family Ordaz. No shame this drunk woman.
Guilty says
Guilty. She was driving drunk and took a life
Oyuki says
She guilty how much more evidence do they want she needs to suffer the consequences she made a choice to drink and drive how does she plead not guilty? Now she doesn’t want to do the time smh
Eli says
This Kruppe thing had a disgusting life style she killed some ones loved one because she made a bad choice . She should suffer the consequences.
Wondering says
What was her disgusting lifestyle? Facts please, not rumors
