Last year, we discussed some of the best hairstyles for men to rock, but because fashion and trends change so quickly, it’s time to update the news for 2020. From short to long, high-maintenance to easy, men across the world are sure to find a look that suits them perfectly and gives them the confidence to do whatever they have their heart set on.
The undercut with a textured top – The undercut has been stylish for a long time, but guys are beginning to switch things up and including a textured top. This puts a new spin on a classic look and is certain to become a big look this year. So get it early and become one of the trendsetters.
High fade with a side parting – Neatness is returning in a big way for 2020. The high fade adds a bit of edge, while the neatly side parted style provides a clean and tidy look with the volume to match. A cool idea could be to dye the top to a different color than your usual, such as going for bleach blonde if you have brown hair, for example. This switches things up and provides a memorable image.
Low fade with a textured crop – A cool look that really shows off naturally thicker texture, this is a popular look with a strong focus on flow and waves, yet with the tidiness that makes it suitable for everyday wear. Another trendy idea has been to include a symbol, such as a cross, somewhere into your shaved sides.
Mid fade with a tapered brush-up – This has the feel of a just-got-out-of bed image but it’s actually a very organized, conservative look that puts a lot of emphasis on the quiff and overall big volume. As discussed here by Schwarzkopf, men’s hairstyles will require the right styling tools and product to pull off the look. But a good pomade, a brush with natural bristles, and a powerful blow-dryer should do the trick.
Contemporary French crop – This look has been here and there over the last few years, but more and more we’re seeing modern French crops on the streets. This is a great thing, as it suits those with messy, curly hair but can be brought into 2020 with a hard part and shaved back and sides below the eyebrow. Some men are even pairing this just with a mustache, which creates a retro vibe.
Gradual tapered fade – While tall quiffs and messy crops are all the rage, short and tapered looks have something to prove as well. Combined with a sharp fade, it’s a look that’s hard to ignore and easy to rock.
