It’s happening from 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at Sol Plaza Mall Boutique, located at 1140 Commerce Center Drive in Lancaster. This event is free and open to the public.
The fair will be hosted by Saharra White, an entrepreneur whose two children will be participating in the fair.
“I wanted to host this fair because I saw a need for my children to be around their peers that also had businesses. My daughter Sanyu has had her business since December 2018 and she just recently started attending vendor pop-ups and seeing other children selling,” White said.
“Due to COVID-19, these children are missing their school business fairs. They are missing the opportunity to make friends, build confidence, learn about money, and counting in a real-life setting. This is why I decided to host a children’s business fair,” White continued.
This event is sponsored by Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business, Saharra White Enterprises, donors and volunteers. The young entrepreneurs will be representing over two dozen schools in the Antelope Valley, including Granite Mountain Charter School, Esperanza Elementary, Quartz Hill High, Jack Northrop Elementary, Desert Willow, and many more. One participant is traveling from as far as Woodland Hills Academy in the San Fernando Valley to participate.
“Today’s youth are tomorrow’s business innovators and leaders. The Children’s Business Fair gives students the opportunity to spread their entrepreneurial wings and get a head start on promising business careers,” said Jeff Sandefer, founder of the Acton School of Business, one of the sponsors of the fair.
