PALMDALE – A child was found Sunday unconscious but breathing after being pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool in Palmdale.
Deputies pulled the child out of the pool at a home in the 37000 block of Mayfield Court about 4:40 p.m. Sunday, May 9, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Sgt. Chris Martin.
The child was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment, according to a source at the scene.
Sgt. Martin said he did not know the child’s current condition, gender or age, but was awaiting word from the hospital.
There was no word on how the child got into the pool or if it was fenced in.
No further information on the incident was immediately available.

Parental Negligence.
Fred says
This is a sad, heartbreaking and all too common occurrence. Nothing political about it.
Esmeralda says
Where is the outrage? Cummon, democrats! Where’s your enthusiasm? Let’s see some outrage!
Hardy says
You want outrage over a child being saved? Stop eating paint chips.
Thanx LASD says
Did the deputies dive in?
Who saves the kid if we defund the police?
If I was a criminal, I’d want to defund the police. Who else in their right mind would?
Tim Scott says
Just for the record, if you see a kid lying in the bottom of a pool and your first thought id “OMG call the police” you are a sorry excuse for a human being and you should NEVER be allowed to own a swimming pool.
Does not compute says
Agree. Or ever have kids, for that matter. That part “did not compute”. How did the kid survive until cops arrived? Much respect.
Tim Scott says
Yeah when this full story comes out it will probably be the negligent homeowner IS the deputy and that’s how they were first on the scene. Spin control on full speed to release a “look at how great we are” piece from the PR office.
TS has no other hobby says
The probability of “that” being the correct answer is, while not zero, still absurdly low.
