PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale is kicking off summer with a variety of fun and innovative programs for youth and families at both Marie Kerr Park, located at 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd., and Domenic Massari Park, located 37716 55th St. East.
Beginning June 7 and continuing through Aug. 7, the city will offer daily fun and innovative socially distanced activities for youth at Domenic Massari Park and Marie Kerr Park Community buildings, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Saturday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a Family Fitness Day will be celebrated at both parks. City staff will host socially distanced field games and obstacle courses that will encourage participants to stay active and healthy.
Two weeks later, on Saturday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., will be the Summer Kick-Off featuring socially distanced summer activities and prepackaged treats. Children in attendance will be able to make fun summer crafts and enjoy socially distanced water games.
Finally, on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the city will host an End of the Summer Blast Hula Party, featuring games such as hula hoop, Hawaiian limbo, and Kumu Hula Says. Hawaiian themed snacks will be available while supplies last.
