Two men fatally shot in Lancaster

LANCASTER – Two men were fatally shot Monday in the Lancaster and a person of interest was detained for questioning, authorities said.

The shooting was reported around 10:10 a.m. Monday, June 21, in the 100 Block of East Avenue I, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

“Deputies assigned to Lancaster station responded to the location regarding a gunshot victim call. Upon their arrival they located two male Hispanics, approximately 30 years of age, suffering multiple gunshot wounds to their upper torso,” the news release states.

“One victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased, the other victim was pronounced deceased on scene,” the news release states.

The victims names have not yet been released pending next of kin notification.

A person of interest was detained for questioning by LASD homicide investigators, according to the sheriff’s department. No further details on the incident were released.

  3. Lancaster is bringing the entire AV down the same drain. Why is our elected officials getting a pass. No innovation coming out of that board and the residents continue to support the same Republican leadership year after year that fails to protect anybody East of the precious Blvd.

      • Crime suppression does not exist in Lancaster as we have the highest crime rate in the entire County of Los Angeles but we also have the largest contract with the Sheriff Dept. Something wrong with this picture! This is Republican approach to public safety, spend and spend.

        • Whereas the Democrats demonize our police force and want to disband the department. Combine that with their opening the floodgates of hell via dumping half the prison population into our AV, and the out of control dumping of homeless population, and who is really to blame for what has transpired in what used to be a nice, safe place I was raised in and raised mine. This place is now a dangerous, filthy, ghetto dumping ground for every bad actor in the state. Sick of it!

    • Give me a break! …And move where? …To some podunk town in Arizona or Idaho where the so-called “Real Americans” are selling meth or strung out on it? …Where they pay $8.00/per hour wages?

      This shooting was likely a personal conflict — something that can (and does) happen anywhere, even where so-called “Real Americans” live!

    • Actually no it was a big Mexican dude he killed the owner & worker of a tire shop I have the video. Of the guy getting arrested
      my dad called it in he was the first one there right after it happened.
      pretty sure he thinks it was a targeted attack towards them.
