The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped three-tenths of a cent Monday to $5.785 after back-to-back increases totaling six-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 1.9 cents less than one week ago and 27.2 cents lower than one month ago but $1.747 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
A 25-day streak of decreases totaling 28.8 cents ended Saturday with an increase of a half-cent. The average price rose one-tenth of a cent Sunday.
The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent after being unchanged two of the previous three days and rising two-tenths of a cent Saturday following a run of 21 decreases in 23 days totaling 30.3 cents.
The Orange County average price is 3.8 cents less than one week ago and 29 cents lower than one month ago but $1.715 more than one year ago.
