The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday, Sept. 8, for the sixth consecutive day after decreasing 78 of the previous 80 days, increasing 3.1 cents to $5.342.
The average price has increased 9.6 cents over the past six days, including 2 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 8.9 cents more than one week ago and 93.9 cents higher than one year ago but 14 cents less than one month ago.
The average price is $1.12 less than the record high of $6.462 set June 14.
The national average price dropped for the 86th consecutive day since rising to a record, falling 1.3 cents to $3.751. It has dropped $1.265 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14.
The national average price is 7.8 cents less than one week ago and 30.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 57 cents more than one year ago.
