PALMDALE – A man is in critical condition after being shot Monday afternoon during a possible domestic dispute in Palmdale.
Deputies from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station were called at 4:47 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, to the 37400 block of Sierra Highway where they found the victim in the street with a gunshot wound, Lt. Derrick Alfred said at a news conference at the scene.
Alfred said the station received multiple calls regarding a possible domestic violence situation involving the victim and his ex-girlfriend, who drove to the scene of the shooting after a possible altercation.
“The victim and his ex-girlfriend were stopped in the middle of the street and the man was standing outside, next to the car, when someone pulled up behind them and fired shots at the victim,” Alfred said.
The victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics. No further information on the incident was immediately available.
Anyone with information about this shooting is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.

Liberals should consider midnight basketball for wife beaters. Because it sure squared away our “teens”.

Ahhh, Ledesma… It was a nice trolling attempt, but…
It’s curious that you should bring up the remarkably successful program fro your trolling attempt. For, although it was roundly derided by right wing pundits when it was brought in while Clinton was in office, it was objectively successful enough that President G. W. Bush included it in his ‘Thousand Points of Light’ initiative in the next presidency. Indeed, it’s crime reduction record was (and still is) so good that it was brought back in 2019 while Trump was in office, as well, so there are midnight basketball leagues back in operation again, today.
Although it has been found conclusively to have been successful in every city it was initiated in, it was never intended for the purpose you want to apply it to. So, I’m curious as to how you, in your inestimable education and experience in criminological programs, believe that it would work as well for the serious issue of domestic violence as it has proven to do for reducing street crime by juveniles in urban environments?
