PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale is offering free fitness classes for ages 13 and up at the Pelona Vista Park Fitness Court, located at 37720 Tierra Subida Ave.
The first sessions take place on Saturdays, Feb. 11 and 25, from 1-2 pm. Additional sessions continue bi-monthly through Saturday, May 27.
Registration for the first two sessions opens Monday, Jan. 23, at www.PlayPalmdale.com (search for “Fitness Court Workout”). Space is limited and prizes will be awarded to participants who sign up and participate in every class from February through May.
The Pelona Vista Park Fitness Court is a best-in-class outdoor bodyweight circuit-training system, featuring more than 30 pieces of exercise equipment arranged in stations. The court design allows up to 28 people to use it simultaneously. The system includes a series of full-body exercises that take seven minutes to complete. The 7 Movements in 7 Minutes is a simple, yet powerful workout created for a range of athletic abilities and can burn more calories per minute than most other forms of exercise.
The Fitness Court was made possible through funding from Antelope Valley Hospital, Kaiser Foundation, High Desert Medical Group, The Warnack Foundation, and an NFC Fitness Grant from Fit Radio.
Use of the Fitness Court is free and available during regular park hours, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
