LANCASTER – Antelope Valley Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval, a nationally recognized symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care, AVMC officials said.
“I applaud our team that make it their mission to provide quality, compassionate, safe, and patient-centered healthcare,” said Antelope Valley Medical Center, Chief Executive Officer, Edward Mirzabegian. “We’re pleased to have received our re-accreditation from the nation’s premier healthcare quality improvement and accrediting body.”
During the review, a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors assessed compliance with hospital standards related to several areas, including emergency management, environments of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, information management, life safety, nursing, and medication management.
Surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews. The accreditation is awarded for a three-year period, and applies to Antelope Valley Medical Center’s main hospital, the Women and Infants Pavilion, the OB/GYN Outpatient Clinic, the Outpatient Wound Care Center, and the Antelope Valley Home Care.
“As a healthcare accreditor, The Joint Commission works with healthcare organizations across settings to help improve patient safety and quality of care through our expert resources and tools, innovative solutions and rigorous standards,” said Deborah Ryan, MS, RN, interim executive vice president, Accreditation and Certification Operations, The Joint Commission. “We commend Antelope Valley Medical Center for its commitment to advance safety and quality for all patients.”
The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 22,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States. An independent, nonprofit organization, The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. AV resident says
So this tells me they bough that gold seal.
There is no way AV medical earned it. My Girlfriend lost her life under there lack of care. Her Doctors ignored her crystal for help until it was to late.
My father was sent to AV medical after an accident. He was sent home with a broken collar bone and internal bleeding and told he was fine.
There are tons of videos of people receiving su par next to no care from this place.

As a person in the health care industry 30+ years I respectfully disagree with this assessment of AV Hospital. Over the 20 years this medical staff has a wide reputation of substandard care of people of color. Hospital related infection and questionable deaths of people of color. The ER has maintained a quality staff and system of operations but when admitted a patient of color need family close by. TRUTH.

This wouldn’t surprise me. The Lancaster Mafia with Rex at the helm haven’t exactly been supporters of people of color unless they controlled them.
