PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale is seeking public input on a master plan that will guide the city’s vision for transforming local parks and recreation facilities. Resident are invited to attend the first community-wide meeting on this issue, scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Palmdale Playhouse, located at 38334 10th Street East.
The master plan process includes reviewing and analyzing the entire system, from parks and facilities to programs and operations. The goal is to create a roadmap for the future. The plan will prioritize future park projects and identify sustainable methods to meet the needs of the city’s growth and development.
The plan is developed with an eye toward Palmdale’s existing goals, as laid out in the newly adopted 2045 General Plan. Once completed, the Park and Recreation Master Plan will serve as a blueprint for developing goals, policies, and guidelines.
Additional opportunities to provide input and feedback will include an interactive website, future in-person and virtual community meetings, and surveys. Project consultant BerryDunn will lead various public engagement opportunities, as well.
