Authorities ID man shot dead at Lancaster house party

LANCASTER – Authorities have identified the man who was shot to death at a house party in Lancaster early Saturday morning.

He was 29-year-old Samuel Ferrell III of Sun Valley, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The shooting was reported around 1:25 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at a home in the 44000 block of Cerisa Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies dispatched to the scene located two men with gunshot wounds to the upper body. Ferrell was pronounced dead at the scene and paramedics rushed the other man, in critical condition, to a hospital.

Information on the circumstances leading up to the shooting was not immediately available. No further information on the incident was released. Anyone with information regarding this shooting is encouraged to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.   1. Lancaster is a cesspool. It doesn’t help that we have a mayor who doesn’t even live here. Maybe if we had a mayor and council that better represented our residents by living here and representing the whole city and not just the west side, we could see some improvement. Hydrogen and solar are nice, but when you can’t leave your house at night due to fear of being robbed or shot, they really don’t care. Today’s paper had a frightening map of all the crimes committed in Lancaster. It is a mess.

    • You leftists literally voted for the policies that have led to the conditions in Lancaster. The Mayor can’t prosecute anyone. Only the DA can, and he refuses to prosecute many crimes that once would have ensured jail time for the lawlessness that goes on. You got what you asked for and now you’re complaining about it.

      • If you want to put more people in jail to let them languish instead of training them to be useful citizens you start by building more jails. That means higher taxes. Jails – like Highways – bridges – speed limits are part of the Socialist aspect of out Capitalist/Socialist society. If a new jail were proposed with a 30 million dollar bond – would you vote for it?

      Complain about realistic issues and you’ll get some resolved. Keep whining about matters that should not be any of your concern, and you’ll spend your life worrying about crap you cannot change.

      • A mayor that lived here and interacted with residents would have a better understanding of the reality that is living in Lancaster. Spending $10 million on a spy plane is obviously the work of an out of touch leader. Maybe if he lived here, walked the streets of east Lancaster, hired people to connect with the community, had more officers on patrol, developed programs and community policing, we would see a change. They do a better job of that in Palmdale and their crime is always lower. How can it be that two cities so close to each other can be so far apart when it comes to crime? It has to do with leadership, and in Lancaster, the lack of leadership.

      • It’s customary for a Mayor to live in the town he is Mayor of. In many cases it is required. If Rex spends all of his time at the beach he should not be Mayor of Lancaster.

        If DJT committed crimes he should be held accountable.
        House Arrest, no firearms, not golf, no Fox News.

      • As long as it’s People of Color no one cares. Start putting People in places thats going to help you all that live in these Communities.

        • “No one cares” because everyone is fatigued with people who have low IQ levels, are shortsighted and cannot control their emotions. Did that ever occur to you?

        • Honestly, I don’t care very much because I don’t go to “house parties” that are basically open to the public. I also don’t drive around at 2:15 in the morning, so I don’t get too excited about the widespread drunk driving. While I don’t look at these things as any kind of positives, they are just not high in my priorities because there are things that directly affect me, and there are things that affect really large segments of the population, and those things take up my attention.
