The city of Palmdale is offering expanded summer youth scholarships for recreation programs, swim safety, recreational swim, and Dusty’s Kids for residents 17 years and younger. These scholarships are limited in number available, and all scholarships, regardless of need, are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so local youths are encouraged to apply today.
“We are excited to be expanding our Youth Scholarship programs this year, to include three more opportunities for families, ” said Palmdale Mayor Laura Bettencourt. “Last year, we awarded $9,800 in scholarship funds and were able to provide assistance to 239 youth, and we look forward to doubling those numbers this year.”
Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application by Friday, June 30, for the recreation, swim safety, and recreational swim programs. The deadline to apply for Dusty’s Kids is Thursday, July 27, or while supplies last.
