Pedestrian killed in Palmdale hit-and-run collision

PALMDALE – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision late Thursday night in Palmdale, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officers were called at 11:19 p.m. Thursday, May 11, to 20th Street and West Avenue N in Palmdale, where they found the victim in the roadway, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball told City News Service.

Witnesses said the vehicle drove away after hitting the pedestrian. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Kimball said. The victim’s name has not yet been released pending next of kin notification, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

A Yellow Alert was activated Friday, May 12, by the California Highway Patrol. A Yellow Alert is activated when a person has been killed due to a hit-and-run incident and the law enforcement agency has specified information concerning the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is a 2009 four-door dark gray Honda Civic with a California license plate 8TAS047. It lost its front bumper, license plate, a windshield wiper in the collision and is believed to have hood and windshield damage, according to the CHP. Anyone who sees this vehicle is encouraged to call 911.

      • Hi Tim, I just want to apologize to you for some past thinking things about you from past comments you have made. I recently was in court to watch court for a friend that had an issue, this is first hand. (now to the issue, not my friend) A young black man (around 20 or 22) was arrested and had to show up for court for “fleeing” the police (running/car/bike?–I do not know), but what was so wrong is….this young person had should up for court and then the prosecuting attorney dropped the charges because……there was video evidence the young guy never fled. WTF! I guess I am not trusting any cop/DA/PA again in my life! They had the evidence all along, corrupt! They wasted our tax dollars, knowing full well, there was no a case. This stinks of just doing the numbers…DA..I have so many to prosecute and let some off. The complete system is broke. The cops should be fired/the DA should be fired/the PA should be fired! But they will continue with their Govt. job with protection. People, wake up, the cops are not there for you/the DA is not there for you/the PA is not there for you. They have their 9 to 5 job, paid by us and they are worthless. Again, Tim, please accept my apology.
