Los Angeles County’s Office of Violence Prevention will host a School Safety Virtual Community Listening Session next week aimed at residents and schools in Supervisor Kathryn Barger‘s 5th District, which includes the Antelope Valley.

Speakers and presenters include: Dr. Barbara Ferrer, director of the county’s Public Health Department; Andrea Welsing, executive director of the Office of Violence Prevention; Kelly Fischer, deputy director of the Office of Violence Prevention; and Aarti Harper, trauma prevention initiative co-lead of the Office of Violence Prevention. Spanish interpretation will be provided.
The focus of the listening session is to gather stakeholder feedback on what school safety innovation efforts are needed in the Antelope Valley, according to organizers. The Office of Violence Prevention is working on developing recommendations to present to the Board of Supervisors.
