PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale hosted a groundbreaking to celebrate Transwestern Development Company’s construction of a new 100,000-square-foot industrial facility in the Fairway Business Park on Legacy Lane.
Legacy at Palmdale will be developed on two parcels totaling just under 5 acres located on Legacy Lane, just south of West Avenue O. The facility will include cutting-edge building features such as 32-foot clear height, 15 dock-high doors, grade-level loading, an ESFR sprinkler system, and office space.
“We welcome Transwestern Development Company’s first endeavor in Palmdale,” said Mayor Laura Bettencourt. “This project aligns with the City’s commitment to economic vitality, innovation and job creation.”
“Transwestern is excited to work with the City and their professional development team to bring the first of many projects to Palmdale,” said John Privett, partner with Transwestern. “The city’s streamlined process, strong labor pool and abundant surrounding amenities make Palmdale an attractive location for investment.”
The development will include full site improvements including landscaping, lighting, parking, and a truck delivery yard to the west of the new building. The project is anticipated to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
“Palmdale is the hub of investment and growth,” said District 1 Councilmember Austin Bishop. “Our business-friendly environment, geography, qualified workforce, affordable living, and quality of life are attractive to a diverse range of industries, and we know this facility will attract only the best tenants.”
Mayor Laura Bettencourt, Councilmember Austin Bishop, and many community leaders attended the event.

Another building in the AV that will sit empty.

My comment is for the person who talked about street vendors taking restaurants clientele. People go wherever they want to eat and if it’s a street vendor who’s serving up some good food to fulfill my taste bud then so be it. No disrespect to the restaurant it’s just our taste bud took a turn that day or we’re looking for something different for a change. No harm no foul
John says
Food trucks did to the restaurant business what Amazon did to brick and mortar retail.
Times be changing…
Frank Rizzo says
I don’t see that happening. I won’t buy over priced food from the side of the road roach coach. Ill spend my money someplace I can sit at a table in the AC. Roach coaches not for me.

Fix the homeless issue and bring high paying jobs/careers. That is something I can get behind. Why do we not have a Tesla factory? Why do we not have higher paying jobs out here? Why do we have to drive to other cities and commute over an hour to get a decent wage? I could not care less about this photo op.
Me says
Best part is they left all their litter behind. Well done!

The city of palmdale needs to do something so there are no more street food vendors in front of restaurant. causing them to lose customers.

Filling all the empty buildings in Lancaster would take an eternity.
Yesenia says
Why, and how does it affect you? if there’s a street vendor selling burgers infront of Mc Donald’s, it’s my choice where I want to spend MY money. Let people do their thing!
Tim Scott says
I sort of assumed that Monica is somehow connected to the restaurant business.

Just another empty business to add to the many we already have
