More proof that institutional racism is a liberal lie. And thank goodness our institutions follow the long established EEO laws which prohibit discrimination. We need candidates based on their qualifications, not equity quotas. All equity quotas do to minorities is reinforce the myth that they cannot accomplish what their white counterparts can, unless a “hand-out” or “concession” is given to them. This lady clearly worked to achieve excellence and was rewarded based on her accomplishments, not the color of her skin.

Way to ignore the abundant evidence that EEO laws are only partially effective, at best, in preventing discrimination. There are plenty of bigots in decision making positions that ignore those laws, and enforcement is minimal. Bigots hiring and promoting more bigots perpetuates the problem unless additional action is taken.

Maybe you should go onto the federal EEO and State EEO websites and look at the number of complaints vs substantiated cases, then insert foot in mouth. The percentage of complaints that are substantiated (finding discriminatory conduct) is extremely low. Besides, the only true bigot I have ever seen on this site is you. You are constantly making comments that suggest blacks and Latinos cannot get a fair shake unless concessions are made for them. Your white guilt is actually harming people of color and you really should stop.

Cite your source Tim. The annual reports on both federal and state EEO websites show that only a tiny fraction of all cases result in a finding of discrimination. Most complaints are largely unsubstantiated. The real harm comes from people like you who peddle generalized accusations of racism without specific examples. You’re actually harming minorities when you do that because you’re helping to reinforce the idea that they can never be equal and they can never succeed without some sort of concession handed to them. It creates a mindset of defeat before any effort is even given.
