LAKE LOS ANGELES – Two teenagers died and four teenagers were injured when the vehicle they were riding in careened off the roadway and overturned in Lake Los Angeles late Friday night, authorities said.
Seventeen-year-old Alejandro Monge Ramos of Hemet, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle’s driver, 15-year-old Diego Manzo of Hesperia, was airlifted to Antelope Valley Medical Center where he died of his injuries, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The fatal crash happened around 11:10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, on Fieldspring Street, south of Avenue O, the CHP report states.
Manzo was driving a 2019 Jeep Cherokee northbound on Fieldspring Street when, “for reasons still under investigation,” the vehicle left the roadway and overturned, the CHP report states. None of the occupants in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts, according to the CHP report.
A 14-year-old boy from Lancaster and a 17-year-old boy from Palmdale sustained major injuries in the crash, while a 16-year-old boy from Littlerock and a 17-year-old boy from Pearblossom sustained minor injuries, according to the CHP report. All were transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
“It is unknown if alcohol (and/or) drugs are a factor in this collision,” the CHP report states. No further information on the crash was immediately available.
Anyone with information on this crash is encouraged to contact Officer T. Lee at the Antelope Valley area CHP office at 661-948-8541, or the CHP Los Angeles Traffic Management Center at 323-259-3200.

Tim Scott says
Does anyone honestly think that was something I would say?
FOS says
Yes.
Tim Scott says
Why would you think that? It is actually the opposite of the kind of things I get ragged on the most for saying. Is it just that you have a knee jerk reaction telling you “all things bad come from Tim,” even if they are contradictory? Or are you just not capable of seeing that they are contradictory?
Tim Scott says
LOL…so why is it that you hang on every word, and then burn your brain cells coming up with an endless stream of one off screen names because you know that you have no credibility to carry from one comment to the next?

The children of today are merely the A-holes of tomorrow.

Some people have the ability to turn their lives around through a series of experiences that could change their minds. None of us knows what others go through in their journey in life.

This is closer to being something I might say.

First of all, my condolences go to all families of the parties involved. Secondly, it’s my humble opinion that we are no one to judge so harshly. We shouldn’t wish death upon anyone. To categorize them as stupid, would mean that we haven’t ever done something lacking of common sense. We were teens at one time of our lives. We have no right to say “parents are at fault for their child’s actions.” No parent knows their child. Specially during their teens. Do we know the back story to this incident? Do you care to know a little bit about these kids? Of course not, you just want to judge what you don’t know. Lives were lost and families are in mourning. If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.

These kids have been on a crime spree. That’s the backstory. Stealing cars and quads, breaking and entering, and vandalism are not a “lack of common sense.” Driving a stolen car without a license is also not a “lack of common sense.” If their parents didn’t know what they were doing (which seems unlikely), that’s negligence.

These comments breaks my heart, regardless of the situation, Children’s lives were lost, parents lost their kids! Have some remorse and respect. It could of been anyone’s family!

There it is again.

a very sad story to hear when Christmas is so close.
These boys were nonetheless more likely to be killed in a school shooting in modern America than by automobile accidents.

They were being chased right after vandalizing someone’s property driving at a high rate of speed in a neighborhood in a car that was stolen 2 months prior and they drove right straight into a wash with steep embankments thinking this was dukes of hazard or something.
I pray that parents do better. This could have been prevented several times over. These “kids” messed around and found out. Now there is roadside vigils and people seriously morning and grieving… where were they even 30 minutes before this happened, why were these kids allowed to be out and about at that time of night let alone in a stolen vehicle… how the hell were they even driving that vehicle around.
You can’t tell me the parents/guardians had no idea. They didn’t hide that whole jeep under the bed and kept it a secret from everyone who “cared” for them! That doesn’t even make sense. My kid farts different and I know about it! I’m just saying.

So because it was in the desert and it was late at night is why the vehicle left the road? Basic logic tells me that there were other factors involved other then it was late and in the desert. I think that it has more to do with lack of supervision. Either way this is very sad news. And I hope this opens the eyes of parents to raise their kids to have integrity and learn the value of hard work. And to keep a good eye on your kids because if you don’t know where they are and what they are doing you could get a call in the middle of the night. With that said, “keep an eye on your kids, a good parent can prevent these tragic events” Prayers to the families. Sorry for your loss.

The car left the roadway because it was driven at high speed in the desert late at night by a juvenile delinquent.
If these kids were from Hemet and Hesperia, why were they driving a stolen car around Lake Los Angeles? Why not terrorize their own neighborhoods?
They were fools says
I don’t feel sorry for any of them or the family better supervision is needed
