LAKE LOS ANGELES – An armed suspect wanted for assault who was barricaded inside a residence in the unincorporated area of Lake Los Angeles was taken into custody early Thursday morning after a nearly seven-hour standoff, authorities said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau personnel were called at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, to assist deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station with the suspect in the 16200 block of Chuka Avenue, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
The woman eventually surrendered and Special Enforcement Bureau personnel took her into custody at around 2 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, LASD Deputy Brenda Serna told City News Service. Residents living in the surrounding neighborhoods who were evacuated during the barricade were allowed to return to their homes after the suspect was arrested.
It was not immediately clear what led to the barricade.
